Pack your Protection
Okay, maybe we don’t need to mention the obvious need for sunscreen, but it is worth suggesting that you ensure that every aspect of your beautiful body will receive full protection from the harmful UV rays. This includes a sunscreen for your body, lips and your hair. It should also include an aloe vera cream or gel that will quickly work to soothe any skin that your sunscreen might accidentally miss. The best bet for your lips is a balm with a high SPF. For fun and style, choose one with a hint of tint and a yummy taste and smell to boot. Your hair will benefit from a spray on sun protection product. Or you can opt for a leave-in conditioner that contains an SPF. Comb it into your locks, pull them back into a loose bun, and your hair will be soft and styling when the sun goes down. A funky hat with a wide brim and some cool shades with UV protection should complete your beach gear to keep the sun in check.
Relax and Refresh
Let’s all keep in mind that a day in the sun will be hot, hot, hot! Get ready to beat that heat with beauty products that will refresh and revitalize when the sweat starts to glisten. A spritz of hydrating mist or a quick rub down with a refreshing wipe will keep your skin clean, dry and smelling fresh. Avoid fragrance products at the beach, since the scent will be too strong for the hot weather. Opt instead for cooling body sprays that will be refreshing and subtle. It is also important to bring plenty of water with you so that you stay hydrated when the temperature heats up. Add a slice of lemon and a fresh mint leaf to make that water taste better – you will undoubtedly drink more of it this way!
Stay Pretty
Emery boards are another good supply to keep in your beach bag, just in case one of your nails ends up in need of emergency care. Self tanning products are also a good addition – while you want to protect your skin from the sun, you will still want to leave the beach looking sun-kissed. While makeup is generally a no-no at the beach, a bit of powder will keep a sweaty brow in check, a touch of waterproof mascara will bring out your beach-bunny eyes, and a lip tint with an SPF will add a hint of color along with protection.
A day at the beach will be a lot more fun if you know that you are taking care of yourself properly and looking your best. Have fun in the sun!
