Fall mean fun when it comes to beauty purchases that are just because! The industry must have found some old scrapbooks when looking for what’s new for their fall lines. This season is packed full of beauty toys that will become must-haves simply because you can’t stop smiling and remembering how great they were back in the day. But of course, this is the twenty-first century so there is more glitz, more crazy and more laughs attached to what you’ll find online and at the counter this year.

Remember the lip glosses that filled your backpack in elementary school? The big girl versions are here and they are amazing. It seems everyone’s in on lip gloss so the choices are numerous. You’ll once again find your old favorites like root beer and bubble gum, but now you’ll also fill your bag with lingerie lip gloss in sassy packaging and amusing containers that make you want to show it off. The greatest improvement with high end glosses is that you can’t lick the flavor or the gloss of with one irresistible swipe of the tongue. This stuff is long wearing and the scents are like luscious perfume. If your guy likes sweets, wait till he gets a load of vanilla chocolate chip, cherry berry kiss or creamsicle.    

Perfume has taken one giant step for fun! You’ll find fragrances you actually want to wear in designer bottles made to draw attention and make you smile. You’ll do everything from twisting the head off a new wave cut-out doll to pulling a fish out of the “ocean” to get to the spritzer. The real joy is that many of these bottles are refillable and the refill cartridge of fragrance is not as expensive.

At-home spa treatments are also a fall find and will have you relaxed in no time. Start with happy pills for your bath. These designer fragrances (and some more common scents too) may work only by suggestion, but that’s strong power when you see the packaging and read the suggested results. These aren’t hard to find and actually work as bath salts, fizzes and bubbles that don’t quit. Clean up your act with soaps that smell like ice cream, cotton candy and lemon ice. How much more fun can you have in the tub?!

The last, and perhaps favorite, beauty toy we found was mascara. It’s a bit more practical but once you’ve tried it, you’ll see why we’ve included it. It’s a new swirl of color that comes in a mineral blend that actually feeds your lashes and improves them as you wear it – that’s the practical. The fun is that while this mascara will lengthen and darken, it will also highlight your lashes just like highlights in your hair. It looks a little different with dark eye shadow, pale shadow, no shadow at all. It’s like a trip to the salon for your eyes.
