Bring the Life Out of Your Jeans

Bring the Life Out of Your JeansWe all have jeans that we just adore. Whether it’s the style, color or fit, jeans can make or break an outfit. But if you’ve been bored with your jeans lately, you may want to try something new. Instead of going out and spending money on a new pair, it helps to have a little crafty know-how in order to give your jeans a makeover. And don’t worry, it doesn’t involve adding beads, glitter or altering them in any way!

In general, jeans are known as kick-back items of clothing. Many women wear them around the house, while running errands, etc. However, the latest fashion trends and designers are now creating jeans that can easily be worn to cocktail parties, clubs and even brunches and dinners. Getting the most out of your jeans is as simple as knowing what to wear with it to create a look that is far from “casual.”

Depending on what the occasion is, choose your style of jeans wisely. Not all styles will work with different outfits. If you’re trying to go for a more sexy and chic look, throw on a pair of skinnies and heels. With the right top, your jeans will look dynamite and not out of place. Bootcut jeans with a low rise also create great lines and can add a touch of sophistication for your night out. When you’re trying to achieve a classier look, keep the baggy jeans in the closet.

You’d be surprised how the right pair of shoes can set off your favorite jeans. You can instantly go from casual (sandals and flip flops) to chic by donning sexy strappy heels. Wearing heels with your jeans automatically creates the illusion of longer legs - just be sure that the length of your jeans works with the height of your shoes. You want the jeans to cover most of the heel but avoid having your jeans touch the floor. Heels with a pointed toe and slender heel add just the right touch of class. Another shoe option for dressing up jeans is ballet flats for when you want to look stylish but comfy at the same time.

For outfits that need to be taken up a notch on the style scale with jeans, opt for dark denim. Have a pair of dark denim jeans that are free of rips, tears, and spots of faded color in your closet for special occasions. Jeans that look worn won’t look classy no matter how you accessorize or play up your other clothes so keep the two separate.

Just as the right pair of shoes can make regular jeans look fabulous, so can the right top. For a night out on the town or a special dinner, forget the plain shirts and instead go for a satin, silk or sequined top. This is your chance to sport the sexiest turtleneck, tube top, scoop neck blouse or off-the-shoulder piece. Finally, top off your jean ensemble with accessories. From hoops and dangling earrings to bracelets and chunky rings, your accessories can add the finishing touch to your new outfit.
