Get the Celebrity Look: Catherine Zeta Jones

Get the Celebrity Look: Catherine Zeta JonesIf there’s anyone who many people look up to for style, grace and true beauty, it’s British babe Catherine Zeta Jones. From action flicks to her family, Catherine stays on the move but not without looking fabulous! Now you can steal her movie premiere look without having to pay for her makeup artist.

Before adding any makeup, be sure to start with a thoroughly cleansed and exfoliated complexion. After your moisturizer has been fully absorbed, dab concealer - if needed - to the under eye area and to any blemishes you may have. Also add some concealer to the entire top eyelid for an eye shadow base. Next, use your favorite foundation (it doesn’t matter what type) all over, being careful to blend smoothly with your concealer. Don’t forget adding foundation past your jaw line and onto your neck. Be sure to blend well in this area using light, downward strokes. Step back and check your work under a good light to make sure you haven’t missed any areas or created telltale streaks.

Now you’re ready to add blush. If you have the same skin tone as Catherine, your face will look great with a touch of wine or mauve colored blush. Apply it in thin layers to build up the color. You’ll want to stop once you get a natural-looking glow. Round, full faces can focus the blush solely on the apples of the cheeks, while other face shapes can sweep the color slightly higher on the cheekbone for definition.

For those who love purple shades, this eye makeup look will become one of your favorites. On the entire lid, go over your concealer base color with a medium wine or other purplish eye shadow color from lid to the crease. Next, use this same color that’s on your top lid and apply it as one thin line along your lower lash line for a soft and sultry effect. The next color should be a deeper shade of purple, plum or wine. This should be applied to the crease from corner to corner and blended well. To get a great highlight color, use a pearly gold or vanilla shade only under the arch of your brow. Blend this color well enough to eliminate any definitive lines.

To get your brows in shape, use a sharp pencil to shape and fill in your brows where needed, starting with your arch. Stick to dark colors or a shade that matches your hair color.

To line your eyes, use black or dark brown liquid liner. If you’re not very good with liquid, then you can opt for regular stick eyeliner but the effect will be more dramatic with liquid. Using the liquid liner, start at the top of the lash line, and sweep a thin line from corner to corner. Do the same with the lower lash line. To close in the look, apply a thin line of liquid liner around the inner corners of the eyes. After curling your lashes, apply two coats of black, lengthening mascara to the top lashes. Or you can add false lashes for extra glamour.

To get Catherine’s red carpet pout, go for a mauve, brown or wine color lip liner and matching lipstick shade. After lining your lips, apply one coat of lipstick and blot with a tissue, then add a second coat. The more you coat and blot, the longer your lip color will stay.
