Get the Celebrity Look: Christina Aguilera

Get the Celebrity Look: Christina AguileraThere were times when the style Christina Aguilera sported was questionable but no one could deny that the diva with the powerful voice didn’t care what anyone thought about her. However, her “dirty” days are over and with a new baby on the way, we’ve seen Christina change up her look once again. This time her new look screams old Hollywood and she’s never looked better.

If anything, Christina is known for her platinum blonde locks. Lately she’s been sporting the sexist finger waves seen in Hollywood. Luckily, getting that look no longer involves going to a pricey salon. To get the look, check out the following do-it-yourself steps:

·    After shampooing and conditioning your hair, towel blot to remove excess water and apply a firm holding mousse or similar product depending on your hair type (for dry hair types prone to frizz, be sure to apply a good quality anti-frizz serum or pomade).

·    Create a “wet pin curl set” by separating your hair into equal, 1-inch sections. For each strand/section of hair, apply a small amount of styling gel.

·    Take each strand/section and wrap them tightly around your finger. The tighter the curl, the better it will hold up.

·    Secure with a clip diagonally across the entire width of the pin curl.

·    Continue to do this until all of the strands/sections are done. Afterwards, spray with water so the curls dry uniformly.

·    Let hair dry completely (either air dry or by sitting under a hood dryer) and remove all of the pins carefully.

·    Use your fingers to tousle and create the style of curls you want. Be sure to apply a few drops of shine serum or use firm holding hair spray to keep the curls in place.

To achieve Christina’s flawless, porcelain complexion, concealer is a must. Use a flat brush to apply concealer to the under eye areas, lids and between the eyes. When you’re ready to apply foundation, use a sponge to blend it into the concealer - don’t forget to apply foundation to the neck area to avoid the “two-tone” effect. Set the look off with powder using a large brush or powder puff. When it comes to blush, Christina loves shimmering cream blushers for a naturally rosy glow.

Get Christina’s come hither eyes by adding fake lashes for a dramatic look and carefully apply liner to the bottom lids. With a hint of smokey eye shadow colors - and a dab of gold shimmer on the top lid, you’ll be able to command anyone’s attention. Christina is also famous for being one of the few who can truly pull off red lipstick. Pick your favorite red shade of lipstick and apply it using a good quality lip brush. Be sure to cover along the outer portion of your lips before filling in the inner parts. For staying power, two coats of lipstick should do. Christina loves the matte look so you won’t need gloss.
