Sultry, Smoky Eyes

You can bring the same look to your own peepers by selecting products that will add drama and color to this very important feature. Eyeliner is an important tool to achieve this look, and the best choices are a liquid liner or a pot of liner and a very fine brush.

Black is generally the color of choice, but dark brown will work equally well, depending on the color of shadow you are going to use with it. Dip the fine brush in water first, and then into your liner pot. Try a line on your hand first to ensure that you have the right intensity before applying across your upper lid close to the lash line and on the inside of the lower lid. For a Cleopatra look, carry the liner on your upper lid to the very outer corner of your eye. For a beautiful cat eye, allow your liner to wing out past your lashes a bit and angle it to line up with the lower lid.

Keys can carry off the earthy tones of eye shadows, such as taupe and moss-green beautifully, but for a glam evening look she has been seen wearing a beautiful shimmering silver shadow as well. For smoky eyes that shine, apply the silver sheen all over the lid and then add a darker shade on the outer lid and into the crease. Use your liner to create the cat eye described above, and finish the look with black mascara on both the upper and lower lashes.

A Velvety Complexion

Keys is most definitely blessed with a smooth, flawless complexion that only needs a sheer covering of foundation to even skin tone. Matte finishes are beautiful on this type of skin, so go for a matte formula of foundation and blend with a damp brush or sponge for sheer coverage that will look like you’re wearing no makeup at all. Set your face with a light dusting of translucent powder to stay velvety smooth all day long. Next, you can apply a powder blush that is just a shade or two darker than your natural cheek color for a fresh look. Add a coordinating pink lipstick and a bit of gloss for a touch of shine.
