Eat Like a SupermodelSupermodels are not only admired for their great beauty - they are also admired for their superb physique. While we may envy them it is important to point out that for the majority of today’s hottest supermodels, eating right is critical to maintaining their million dollar bodies. And we all know that eating well is easier said than done. If you need some inspiration, take the following advice straight from the mouths of the supermodels themselves.

 

Even though there continues to be controversy surrounding the modeling industry and issues like too-thin models on the runway, eating disorders and the constant pressure to slim down, supermodels know that the key to eating right and leading a long career doesn’t lie in harming the body through starvation and yo-yo dieting. Claudia Schiffer doesn’t believe in dieting. To her, dieting only offers a temporary weight loss solution and has a tendency to mess up one’s metabolism. Instead she practices eating three meals a day filled with fresh fruits and veggies in between to cut down on snacking. Adriana Lima is a fan of eating in smaller, more frequent portions. For this Victoria’s Secret Angel, it’s all about fruits and veggies, too, but she makes it a point to cut out grains and seeds. She also enjoys salads without any dressing.

 

When it comes to indulging in your favorite foods and sweets, supermodel Helena Christensen believes that it’s okay as long as it is done in moderation. By denying your cravings she says it only makes trying to eat healthier even more of a challenge. And speaking of cravings, Elle Macpherson is a huge fan of fish oils. She can never get enough of oily fish like mackerel, salmon and sardines. Bombshell Giselle Bundchen makes it a point to eat foods loaded with spices to help her sweat off calories and speed up her metabolism. Her favorite way to add some kick to her meals includes pouring on a helping of chili sauce or regular hot sauce, as well as adding peppers to her food.

 

Ever wanted to know how sexy siren Heidi Klum manages to lose all her baby weight after pregnancies? She follows a strict eating regimen that doesn’t allow her to eat anything after 8pm and eliminates alcohol, dairy, bread and sweets. Additionally, she is required to consume no less than 1200 calories a day. Within two weeks, Heidi claims she was able to bounce back and lose the baby weight, while maintaining a lean, toned figure.

 

When it comes to the topic of organic foods, both Elle Macpherson and Claudia Schiffer are huge fans. In fact, organic food is all Claudia allows herself to eat. When shopping for groceries, they prefer to visit local markets and butcher shops instead of loading up their grocery carts at the regular supermarket. This is done to avoid too many packaged and processed foods. By getting your foods in an open air market or meat from the butcher itself, you’ll be able to have a fresher version of your favorite food items.
