Gwen Stefani is known for her musical talent as the lead singing sensation in the hit group, No Doubt, but it’s actually her unique appearance that she is best known for. During the mid 90’s Gwen Stefani took her style to a whole new level by wearing a bindi, which is a forehead decoration or jewel that is worn by married Hindu women to signify their beliefs. Not long after that, Gwen could be seen in pale face powder and bright red lipstick.

It isn’t just Gwen Stefani’s choice in makeup that has fans turning heads though. She has also been known for her unique choices in hairstyles, as well. Although she is a natural brunette, Gwen Stefani has been a platinum blonde since the 9th grade. While this look maybe suitable for her, not everyone can pull of the platinum look. You don’t have to go platinum or get outrageous to pull off a Gwen Stefani look, however. Here is a great look inspired by Gwen herself.

The Makeup

While you might not be as opt to try as bold of a look as Gwen Stefani has been famous for trying, there’s no reason why you can’t step your look up a notch or back in time with this retro look from the pop star diva.

·    To begin, apply a moisturizer to your face to keep skin soft and hydrated.

·    Next, apply a concealer under the eyes and in the corners where dark circles usually appear.

·    Brush brows up and towards the hairline. Fill in any sparse areas using a brow pencil that matches your eyebrow’s color.

·    Next, sweep a pale iridescent shadow across the brow bone.

·    Apply a neutral shadow across the eyelid.

·    Sweep a warm shade of brown shadow into the crease of your eye and blend well.

·    Using black liquid eyeliner, line the upper lash line, starting with a narrow line and thickening it as you bring it out to the outer corner of the eye.

·    Next, line the inner corner of your lower lash line using a black eyeliner pencil.

·    Apply two coats of black mascara to the upper and lower lashes.

· Sweep a pale pink blush across the cheekbones and out toward the hairline.

·    Line lips using a red lip liner and fill in your lips with the same lip liner.

·    Apply a racy red lipstick to the lips, using a lip brush.

·    To finish this look, dab a small amount of clear gloss to your lips.

The Hair

Now that you have the retro makeup, why not try this great retro hairstyle from Gwen Stefani.

·    Beginning at the bad on the head, divide hair into three sections and roll each section using a large hot roller.

·    Continue sectioning hair and rolling into large hot rollers until you done the entire head.

·    Allow the rollers to cool and gently remove them.

·    Next, carefully comb through each individual curl using your fingertips.

·    To complete this look, spray hair using a long-lasting hairspray for ultimate hold.
