Few women in the world can pull off the glamour and fearless style of Gwen Stephani, and she’s been doing it since she was 17. Her signature red lips and black eyeliner paired with her platinum hair make her one of the most distinguishable women in the world. Surprisingly down-to-earth and, not so surprisingly fun, Gwen tells about what makes her glamorous and how she maintains her super star status.

Gwen says her love of makeup started when she was a kid and her friend’s mom would let them raid her stash of makeup and take pictures of themselves. Her love affair continues but she no longer has to raid sample drawers or reuse the adhesive gems she’d adorn her eyes with like she did when she was first making her way in the music industry. Now her makeup artist assures a flawless face by using a few tricks like applying liquid eyeliner over pencil liner for a Marilyn Monroe finish. Another trick Gwen shares is to apply her red lipstick right out of the tube when she wants a more subtle look. When she wants matte lips, she dusts powder over her lipstick.

Everything she does continues to feed into maintaining the style she’s created for herself. Her motto is to have a signature look - but mix it up. That’s something she’s mastered through the years. Another feature of her glam look is her porcelain complexion. Her secret – deal with the dark circles. Gwen’s choice is a peachy skin-corrector pen. It must work perfectly because who’d guess she had dark circles!

Another must-have for the super star is SPF 50 everyday. Gwen was a lifeguard before she became a singing sensation and swears she’s already spent too much time in the sun. No matter what her daily agenda holds, she loads on sunscreen and isn’t without it. To further ensure her skin remains as perfect as possible, she swears by baby lotion. It’s a must!

Gwen’s glamour certainly doesn’t begin and end with just her looks. Her personality and drive make her as attractive as her face. She’s always noticing the fun and creativity in people. This is evident in her hew line of perfume that comes in anime doll bottles. They were inspired by the girls in Tokyo’s Harajuku area who dressed so creatively that they drew the attention of one of pop music’s most creative women. These perfume bottles are a tribute of sorts to a fantasy world Gwen created based on her experiences in Japan.

And it goes without saying that her husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale and their children are daily inspiration to our glamour girl. Underneath it all, this rock star is personality made up in a flawless face and body that is inspired by the glamour and creativity of others.
