Since the medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” made its debut in March of 2005, it has become one of the most watched shows on television. Many viewers tune in every Sunday night to watch the lives of these surgical interns as they struggle to adapt to world of medicine while juggling tumultuous personal lives. If you are a fan of this hit series, find out how to get the look of two of the gorgeous actresses on the show; Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo.

Dr. Isobel (Izzie) Stevens

Katherine Heigl plays Dr. Isobel (Izzie) Stevens on the show, the surgical resident who paid her way through medical school by modeling in her underwear. Her fair complexion and blonde tresses give her star power that is hard to beat, but you can nab her look by following a few simple tips. For a soft complexion, use a creamy foundation that you blend onto your face with a dry makeup sponge.

Heigl’s eyebrows are defined with the help of a coordinating eyebrow pencil to add shape and an eyebrow brush to diffuse and soften. Heigl’s porcelain complexion looks best with brown shades on her eyes, including her liner and mascara. If you are very fair, black products may be too much of a contrast for your coloring. For sexy, pouting lips, begin with a lip plumping pencil in a nude shade. Follow up with a lip plumper and then a volumizing gloss in the shade of your choice. Be prepared – lip plumpers tend to make your lips tingle for a few minutes, but the feeling will subside and you will be left with the beautiful pout that you were hoping for.

Dr. Meredith Grey

Dr. Meredith Grey is played by Ellen Pompeo. Dr. Grey is another young, female doctor who is trying to lead a regular life in the not so regular world of medicine. To get Ellen Pompeo’s fresh look, use minimal makeup but use it well to play up the eyes first and foremost. Brown is a good shade for shadow and liner, but for an evening look, check out the shimmery gold hues for an extra dose of glam. Line your upper lids with a pencil (brown for daytime or a more dramatic black for evening) and blend the line with a Q-tip. You can also apply a line to the inner part of the lower lid to accentuate the eyes even more. Use an eyelash curler on your lashes before applying lengthening mascara in a brown/black shade.

To get the fresh, clean look that Pompeo wears best, smooth an oil-free foundation over your face with your fingers and then follow up with a sweep of a damp makeup sponge. A cream blush in a pink shade can be applied to the cheeks and blended upward to the temple. Follow up the look with a sheer pink lip gloss that will give you a hint of shine while maintaining the minimalist look.

It’s no wonder that Grey’s Anatomy is still going strong in its third season, with attractive women like Heigl and Pompeo to follow each week. With a bit of makeup finesse, you can copy the glam looks of these beauties at home. Go grey!
