How to Dress Sexy-Cool

How to Dress Sexy-CoolThe groovy feel of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s has never really disappeared. It takes on varying degrees of popularity as Boho fashion makes its way in and out trendy nightclubs and restaurants and boutiques. This season seems to have resurged the groove of that era with the colors, patterns and fluid shapes so easily recognizable as Boho.

To get the look, keep it colorful and loose fitting. Loads of bright, bold colors that don’t stop at your clothing define this style. Purses, shoes and accessories also need to be full of color and life. Think bold primary colors, definitely no neons or pastels found here. Fearless patterns also define the look. These are not the tie-dyes of yesteryears. These are grown up patterns that are feminine and bold all at the same time. Although the dresses are still very hippie-chic, they are also more refined. Longer versions of the flowy minis are adorned with ruffles from bust line to floor. Designers have managed to pair soft fabrics with brazen patterns and colors for a perfect marriage of sexy and edgy.

Just like your parents did, these floaty dresses are often paired with a vest. Look for form fitted vests in faux fur, feathers and leather. Throw a vest over an off-the-shoulder flowy top. Tops are in a similar style to the dresses with a spectrum running between bright, bold colors and soft earth tones all adorned with full patterns or embroidered trim in anything your imagination can create from large Queen of Hearts diamonds to Indian inspired designs.

Accessories are all the rage in this style. And they leave nothing to the imagination. Purses covered in feathers, leather clutches with four inches of fringe around the perimeter, bags adorned with gold chains and dangling baubles are but a few of the sexy-cool add-ons you can grab and take along to make your look come together perfectly.

Don’t forget your shades – big ones. There seems to be no limit to how big sunglasses can get and still be considered a fashion must-have. Think back to Charlie’s Angels and Mary Tyler Moore. Who ever thought that would be sexy again?

Lets talk shoes, or rather boots. Boots are characterizing this trend and they are better than ever. Suede is once again the fabric to have and don’t think for a minute that there won’t be fringe. It is hotter than ever. Also hot is the flat heeled boot in a wide array of colors and materials.

How about handmade jewelry? That shouldn’t be surprising. What may be a bit shocking is that one of the coolest trends us necklaces made by stringing together bangle bracelets. The effect is somewhat tribal, and very colorful. Companies are now selling bangle bracelets like beads while women flock to make custom necklaces.
