Revamp Your Wardrobe for the Fall

Revamp Your Wardrobe for the FallAre you the type of person that marks their change in seasonal clothing for the Fall by wearing huge sweaters, dingy jeans, and sneakers? Well, if you’ve always wanted to make your wardrobe more fashionable, you can do so without a lot of effort and without a lot of money. Fall is about cooler temperatures but that doesn’t mean you have to play down your clothes this season. Learn how to snazz up your closet with essential pieces that will scream Fall chic.

If you’re wondering what colors are “in” for this season, you’ll want to start picking up some clothing items in the following colors: grays, hematite (this ranges from silvery gray to blood red), and purples. You’ll also want to look for textured fabrics and styles that give off a bohemian feel. Also be on the lookout for silver and gold patterned metals. Because of the popularity of these particular colors, you’ll want to avoid brightly colored clothing items that scream “I love the ‘80s.” This Fall it’s all about more neutral, sexy shades that don’t need much to get attention. Wearing more natural colors allows you to play up other parts of your overall look, such as your makeup, hair, or accessories.

Another Fall must have for your wardrobe this season is a ponte knit. This type of fabric has the flexibility to hug the curves in a way that is flattering, no matter your body shape. It’s chic, sleek, and perfect for nights out on the town. Don’t be afraid to layer your clothes this Fall, either. Because of the cooler weather, it doesn’t make much sense to show a lot of skin, which is considered tacky so gather together your favorite complementary pieces and create your own layered outfit. Be sure to toss out crazy, gaudy prints and instead opt for pleasing floral patterns. If you are going to show skin, let it be your legs and this Fall make sure you wear a sexy pencil skirt while you’re at it! Pencil skirts work well with most body types and add a touch of class without looking like you’re trying too hard. Finish off your look with high heels and a wide belt.

If you want to keep warm this Fall but still stay fashionable, then invest in the good ole cardigan. Make sure you have a classic black cardigan on hand, which is easy to mix and match, as well as other colors that suit your tastes. For those days when you’re not feeling jeans, take your wardrobe up a notch by sporting a pair of wool pants. They can complete a business casual outfit for the office or add the right touch of fashion flair to a late lunch or early dinner.
