These are the Hottest Fall Accessories

These are the Hottest Fall AccessoriesEvery season brings with it new must-haves and this fall is no exception. To get in the mood to shop for the hottest fall accessories, think big. As in big frames for glasses; big, bold colors and big bags. This trend of extra large circulates throughout the years and it’s back again with a vengeance. The best thing about going big is that it takes less to create the same visual effect.

From the top down, hats are always a mainstay in fall fashion. This year is no exception. Felt hats with floppy brims that are reminiscent of the ‘20’s and equally as feminine as demure are showing up everywhere. Paired with everything from jeans to tweed pencil skirts, the felt hat is revamping the soft look of yesterday with sassy details like exotic flowers and fancy trim.

Right under your hat you’re peeking over a pair of extra large sunglasses. The bigger the better. To be truly in-style you’ll want clear acrylic frames and tinted lenses, any color tint will do but you’ll be especially trendy in shades of rose, gray or taupe.

Jewelry has taken on an aggressive feel with collections such as the one Christopher Bailey, creative directory of Burberry has been showcasing for months. These broaches, necklaces, cuffs and rings are embellished with metal hardware, grommets, and studs that are inspired by Burberry’s beginnings as a uniform design company fro Britain. Other designers have continued to follow suit with pendants reminiscent of coronation medals and belts that boast more metal embellishments than actual leather.

Bags and purses are bright and spectacular. One very popular addition the lines of purses you’ll see a lot more of is the change purse. These little beauties are big in their own right because they are no longer unnoticeable little necessities at the bottom of your bag. They are big enough to carry alone as a small clutch, and come in exotic skins, bold colors and with all the trimmings. Many are adorned with buckles and metal studs and they come in every imaginable shape and finish.

Shoes and boots are high heeled and fabulous. They, too, continue in the trend of bigger is better. Heels are high enough to climb, wedges are thick and extend from heel to toe, ankle cuffs are wide and buckles are nearly as big as those found on trendy belts. Materials range from patent leather to suede, from silk to plastic – yes you read that right. Plastic shoes are still going strong just like the ones you loved in the early 1980’s.

No matter if you choose one or all these fall favorites to complete your outfit, the key to looking great and staying in-style is to think big. Think dramatic. Be bold as you accessorize. Don’t pile on more than you need because too many of the bigger choices will leave you looking like you’re playing dress-up in your mother’s closet.
