Do You Have A Signature Scent?

Signature ScentYou don’t even see her approach, yet you know she’s arrived. You look up, and, yes, she’s standing before you. Her perfume is her calling card. Does this sound like a 1950’s Hollywood screen play? It could be the voice over dialog as some glamorous siren walks onto the screen. Or if you play your cards right, it could be describing you! You could be the woman walking into the restaurant, the party, or even the office. Without turning around, the person you’re meeting knows it’s you. If you can be identified by the fragrance you are wearing you have established your signature scent.

How do you achieve this status? If you wear the same fragrance all of the time, it can become your signature scent. Now if you change fragrances to suit your moods, then you might want to think about establishing your signature by the perfume you wear.

If you decide to find a fragrance that will become your identifying mark, you’ll have to choose carefully. You want something that will take you through the day and into the evening as well. Your choice will have to do double duty. The scent you select should be light enough to wear to work, yet strong enough for an evening out.

Isn’t this asking a lot from one perfume? Not really. There are a number of fragrances that hold up well for different times of day or night. You’ll want to check out the CareFair’s article, Choosing the Right Scent, for suggestions when selecting perfume. This guide will tell you about the six main categories that scents are divided into. (Floral, Fruity, Oceanic, Greens, Orientals, and Woody)

Having a signature scent doesn’t mean that this fragrance will be your life-long partner. When you feel the need for a change, you can retire “your” scent in favor of a different one.
