Air Travel Beauty Tips

Air Travel Beauty TipsWhether you are attending an important meeting after a long flight, or are meeting "someone special" at the airport, you might be concerned about how you look when you get off the plane. Although air travel poses some temporary beauty glitches, there are a number of small beauty products that can provide quick fixes to amend the situation. While you might be concerned about the airlines recent restrictions on carrying liquids on board, many in-flight beauty tips are based on what you do before you fly. Here are some ideas to consider:

·    Get a good night`s sleep the night before your flight.

·    Stay hydrated. Dehydration is responsible for the dry skin and hair you might experience after a flight. It is also responsible for bloating. Simply put: When your body feels that is lacking fluids, it attempts to protect you from total dehydration by storing extra water in your stomach, around your eyes and in your writs and ankles. Although it sounds contradictory, the only way to get rid of the bloat is to drink lots of water. This should begin a few days before you fly. Although you will not be able to bring a water bottle through security, most airlines will let you purchase one at a shop near the gate. Once on the plane, try to avoid dehydrating drinks such as coffee, alcohol and caffeinated sodas. Not only will these drinks dehydrate you; they will disrupt your sleep patterns.

·    Use a hydrating atomizer spray. This will keep your skin feeling moist and fresh.

·    Sprinkle your hair with a leave-in conditioner prior to your trip, and wrap a scarf around your hair. This is useful if you already have a tendency towards dry hair.

·    Carry on dry shampoo if your hair tends to be oily.

·    Don`t forget your makeup corrector stick! It will come to the rescue if you fall asleep and smudge your eye makeup.

·    Enjoy an in-flight hand treatment: Take along a solid stick of cocoa butter and a pair of cotton gloves. Your hands will be soft and smooth when you de-board the plane.

·    Use a sleep mask. If you end up next to an insomniac who insists on keeping the reading light on all night, no worries. A soft and silky sleep mask will help you get your beauty sleep.

·    Wear comfortable shoes. You can always change into your sexy heels when you de-board the plane

·    Choose makeup with staying power. Select long-wear foundation, lipstick and mascara. Avoid wearing too much makeup, since it will tend to smudge, and your pores will get clogged. Eye shadows, as opposed to eyeliner will be less likely to give you that raccoon look when you get of the plane.

·    Carry dry toothpaste. If you have gone beyond your quota for liquid items, there are some excellent dry shampoos on the market.
