Here are a few of her mantras of advice for staying fit. First, she believes that staying fit physically is all about staying fit mentally. “For me, life, fitness, singing and performing are a mind-body-spirit thing. It’s all connected. If I feel healthy, I feel beautiful.”
So how does she stay healthy spending so much time on the road and now back in the studio to record her fifth album? She jogs for an hour and does another hour of yoga every day. While she’s on tour she eats mostly a lot of greens, tofu and fish. Once a day she allows herself to have one piece of cheese and a cracker. However, Pink is a balanced woman and says that when she’s not on the road you’ll find her having a glass of wine and making homemade pasta with her friends.
Eating right for her means being happy with your food choices and your lifestyle choices. “Food is a blessing. Even if you’re eating a hot-fudge sundae, you have to feel good about it, other wise you’re swallowing guilt.” Make your own rules and enjoy breaking them - truer words to live by have never been spoken!
Perhaps one of the most difficult things for women to do is another life lesson Pink shares: Learn to accept your personal quirks. “I’m only five foot three, so it would be nice to just stretch myself a few inches. And sometimes I wish I looked more feminine… I also wish my legs weren’t so muscular, but I know they’re going to be strong enough to walk me around when I’m 80 years old, so there you go.” Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could really take a look at the features we like least and find a positive to stand on! That would take the negative power away from how we feel we look. Even though the tabloids may slam Pink for being masculine, most women can look admiringly at the way she carries herself and benefit from applying some of Pink life lessons.
The last thing she shares is my personal favorite, it’s to bare your soul and not be a stupid girl. We are made so much weaker when we hide what hurts or scares us. When we allow those things to come out, there’s power in our personal testimony about our lives. Speaking about your trials transfers the power from the offender or the offensive situation to us and then we can heal. Pink tells about meeting Paris Hilton after filming the video for “Stupid Girls.” Paris told her that she’s not really like the image she portrays. Pink’s response: “My point exactly. What about just being yourself?” Well? What about it? No one else can be you. How sad if you rob the world of all that you’ve got packed inside.
