For petite figures you want a cut that will make you look sophisticated, not like a little girl. Choose a longer hem that will lengthen the look of your legs and, thereby, your torso. Avoid capris or cropped lengths that emphasis your height. A slight flair will also add to the sophistication of your look. This cut will also allow you to pair your pants with heels or flats.
For boxy figures, also called apple shaped, you look lovely in jeans and pants with a looser fit. Loose jeans don’t have to be baggy and sloppy. You don’t want to appear to be hiding in your pants. Also very complimentary to your figure is a generous waistband. Look for belt loops that will fit a wide belt and you’ve got the perfect style. You want to avoid are jeans that are snug and accentuate every bump in you body and jeans with a low waist. A mid-rise waist will give you the coverage and support you need and the style you want.
If you’re tall you want to purchase you pants based on you figure rather than your height. For smaller frames you can easily wear cropped lengths to draw the emphasis away from your height or skinny pants to elongate your legs and attract attention. For fuller frames, choose pants that are loose and long with a flair cut.
For curvy figures choose a flattering jean in dark denim with a longer, boot cut. You will look your best in styles that draw attention to your entire silhouette rather than to a specific area. To accomplish this, wear tops and bottoms that are not clingy or short. Short styles tend to accentuate voluptuousness in all the wrong ways. When you can breathe easy in your pants, you know you’re on you way to beautiful.
To keep the perfect jeans looking great wash after wash, choose a delicate, cool wash cycle and only dry your jeans in the dryer if they need to be reshaped. This will help them hold true to your figure and make them last. For dark denims it’s a good idea to turn the pants inside out before washing to help sustain the dye. For a quick shaping of new jeans, wet the pants with a spray bottle while you’re wearing them. Once they are damp, do some deep knee bends, sit cross-legged and do a few lunges.
