1. Utilize Cover-up for Dark Under Eye Circles With the lack of sleep new mothers are bound to get, cover-up for under the eyes is an important make-up solution. Choose a color that is a bit lighter than your regular foundation to offset the circles, and do not apply too much or it will look caked on.
2. Use a Color Tinted Moisturizer Instead of Foundation Instead of piling on a thick foundation to your skin that is still experiencing hormonal changes after pregnancy, use a color tinted moisturizer instead and let your skin breathe. Many tinted moisturizers include sun protection and skin firming benefits that will aid the new mother`s tired skin as well.
3. Wear Light Colors to Brighten your Look Wearing light colors on your eyes will help you look fresh and energized. Make sure your foundation doesn`t darken your complexion, and consider light shades of lip pencil for a brighter look.
4. Powder your Face to Reduce Oil Hormonal changes in your skin after pregnancy can lead to more oil on your face than usual, sometimes after months of dry skin. To get rid of the shine and achieve a soft and even look, use a light powder on your face.
5. Wear Clear Mascara Clear mascara is a great choice for new mothers because it makes your lashes look long and healthy but it cannot sweat off or run off, even with the biggest splash from a toddler in the tub. Additionally, if you happen to get a nap in while you are wearing clear mascara you won`t wake up with smudges on your face when cries tell you its time to change a diaper.
6. Whiten your Teeth With so many commercial teeth whitening products available, making your teeth shine is an easy way to give your face a quick lift. A brighter smile makes you look younger, and the extra smiling motherhood brings will be served well by whiter teeth.
7. Cover Lipstick with Gloss Getting lipstick to stay on your lips is more difficult as a new mother. Try coating your lips with a color-stay gloss after applying color. Consider using a tinted lip balm instead of lipstick for lips that can kiss your baby without leaving a mark.
8. Keep it Light
The first few months of motherhood are strenuous, and although it is important to look good, functioning is the most important thing. Keep your make-up simple and light to avoid your face melting halfway through the day, and remember that your new baby prefers you to look and smell all natural.
