Make-up Tips For The Super Mom

Make-up Tips For The Super MomHours before even the sun has considered rising, you’ve done three loads of laundry, packed school lunches and finished your kid’s book report, and you’re just getting started. Going strong and non-stop from morning until late into the night is a typical day for many super moms. With a schedule like yours, you’ve still got to find the time to look and feel your best. So how do you do it when there’s barely enough time to glance in the mirror?

Start With the Basics

Even on the run, you’ve got to cleanse and moisturize. Without a basic skin care routine, everything else you do to care for and enhance your skin will be in vain. Stick with products that are made from as close to all-natural as possible. The shelf-life of your product will be shorter, but the benefits to your skin will be much improved.

Take a Minute to Mask

Whether you need a deep clarifying mask or a moisture surge mask, take thirty seconds to apply after cleansing your face. While your mask dries, press your suit, make the coffee and it’s only another thirty seconds to rinse. One minute in your morning or evening routine can have lasting benefits to the skin that works over-time just like you do.

Layer

When applying your foundation, tinted moisturizer and concealer, leave a few extra moments for each to dry before applying the next cosmetic layer. This allows your make up to set and will give it extra lasting power throughout your busy day.

Let Your Blush Pull Double Duty

Apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks, dab a little of the same color to your T-zone and just under your brow bone along the crease of your eyelids. This brightens your look – like a tan – and evens tired skin tone. Using blush as you would an all-over bronzer makes touch-ups quick and easy throughout the day. A few dabs with a blush brush and under-eye circles are brightened and skin-tones are evened.

Do you have to go from early morning to date night? Use this application technique to look fresh through the day and glamorous when you hit the town. The trick is not to apply too much of any layer in the morning. In fact, when you won’t have time to redo your make-up, less of everything is best. This will allow you to reapply concealer and powder without caking or creasing. Begin with a light layer of foundation or tinted moisturizer. Allow it to dry. Apply concealer and wait a few minutes before dusting powder over your entire face. Don’t forget your eyelids and lips. This sets make-up. Add a light coat of lip balm, but don’t apply where you use lip liner. This increases feathering. Apply blush as an all over toner. Apply lightly a highlight shade along brow bone. Use eyeliner, but no mascara or additional eye shadow. Line lips and gloss as usual. When it’s time for your night out (even if your using the sun visor mirror for touch-ups), reapply concealer and powder as needed to even skin tone. Apply contour eye color and mascara. Your eyes are now as fresh as if you’d just stepped out of the spa. Continue to use lip balm through the day to keep lips moist for a fresh application of lip liner and gloss. Use brow wax (or hair wax) to shape and define eyebrows.
