Mommy-Friendly Hairstyles

Mommy-Friendly HairstylesMotherhood is a beautiful things but many mothers - especially first time mommies - will tell you that it isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be, namely when it comes to beauty. But just because you had a baby doesn’t mean that you can’t still look amazing. If you’re looking for a hairstyle change, then you’ll love the following ‘dos that any new mommy can pull off.

You don’t need to be a celebrity mom to be able to bounce back after giving birth. When it comes to having great hair, all you need are the right steps and hair care products to get the job done. Before even talking about styling, however, it helps to make sure to you establish a healthy hair care routine first. No matter what hairstyle you choose, you won’t be able to pull it off if your hair is unhealthy, dry, and damaged. Be sure that you are taking care of your hair regularly with shampooing, conditioning, deep conditioning when needed, and getting your split ends trimmed. Many hairstyles tend to hold up better when your hair is properly trimmed or cut so don’t be shy about making a much-needed appointment at your local hair salon.

If you’re a mom that doesn’t have a lot of time to spare and hates fussing with your tresses, then you may want to look into a sleek and sexy bob. Having shorter hair makes preparing a breeze and requires less time and maintenance. Really want to turn heads? Then look into getting an angled bob, a la Victoria Beckham. One thing to keep in mind is that going short is often a drastic change for any woman so be sure that you’ll be happy with the results. If there is any doubt in the back of your mind, don’t go through with it. No hairstyle can be pulled off successfully if you aren’t comfortable wearing it. When opting for a bob or angled bob, be sure to bring pictures for reference and be clear about what you want.

Another way to make your hair smoking hot is to add bangs if you haven’t already. These days, bangs are all the rage, namely full, blunt, fringe bangs. But be wary of your face shape if you’re thinking about this style of bangs since they don’t look great on everybody. The great thing about sporting fringe bangs is that they can be styled in a number of ways. Two popular ways that fringe bangs are being worn include wearing them straight down as is or tossing them to the side using a blow dryer. Another option for is wearing bangs that are loose and wispy. Choose this style if you want to frame your face in just the right way, whether your hair is long, medium, or short. This style of bangs can also be swept up and out of your face and secured with a pin.

If you want to achieve the hot, earthy mama look then you’ll want soft, loose waves. Hot curlers can achieve this look. Keep the curlers in your hair for about 20 minutes and after removing them, use your fingers to tousle your tresses and shape the curls to your liking.
