Minute 1: Hold a hot washcloth over your face and breathe deep to wake up your senses, your tired eyes and your sleepy skin. Moisturize well.
Minutes 2 - 3: Apply tinted moisturizer to your entire face including your eye area. Now you’ve got moisture and instant color. Use concealer where you need it and don’t be shy. You’re base is more important than ever when you’re getting ready quickly. Dust your T-zone, including your eyes, and the center of your neck and chest with bronzing powder.
Minute 4: Line your top eyelids with liner and add mascara to your lashes.
Minute 5: Go bold with your lip color. Line lips and fill-in with liner. Blend lipstick and apply gloss to the center of your top and bottom lips. Dust your face with loose powder to set your makeup.
Minutes 6 – 10: If your hair is tamable with just a brush, you’re on your way. If not, remember to plug-in hot rollers at minute 1 and now quickly put them in place. Curls make hair styling faster. So does teasing, so go for it! Pull curled, teased or straightened hair into a pony and spray the back to add volume, or knot the back and tuck in loose ends with bobby pins. Another quick trick is to tie a scarf or large headband in the front to hide unmanageable bangs.
You’re out the door in 10 minutes or less and looking like you spent all morning getting ready.
If you’re running late for a date and you really need a touch-up but have no time to start over, try these quick tricks of the trade.
Minute 1: Blot excess oil from your face. Spritz pH balancing spray on your face and with your ring finger wipe the area around your eyes. (The trick is to remove enough concealer and smudged makeup to look fresh, but not take it all off to conserve time.)
Minute 2: Reapply concealer around the eyes. Make sure you get right up to the lower lash line. Swipe white or light concealer along the crease of your eyes to open them up.
Minutes 3 – 5: Dust soft gold metallic shadow across your eyelids. Apply a thin line of dark brown liner or shadow along the upper lash line. Dampen your lashes to avoid clumping and reapply mascara. If you want to rock, use a creamy black pencil to line your upper and lower lash lines. Sweep a smoky shadow over the liner and extend slightly from the outside corners. Be sure the shadow angles up toward your ear so it doesn’t make our eyes look droopy. Dampen your lashes to avoid clumping and reapply mascara.
Minute 6: Remove lip color and reapply.
Minutes 7 – 10: Tie your pony into a knot and use hairspray and your fingers to style the loose ends. Spray with shine enhancer and you’re ready to leave him breathless.
