Pros Share Their Secrets for Making Sleepy Models Look Great

Pros Share Their Secrets for Making Sleepy Models Look GreatWhen a photo shoot starts at 5 AM and your model has traveled for the last 24 hours, you really need to know your skincare stuff, especially if you’re shooting a skincare ad. The pros have compiled a list of their favorite tips and tricks for making sleepy models with dry skin and lips look fresh and dewy.

Massage your face to help increase circulation and color. As you apply moisturizer, take it one step farther and give your face a massage. It helps to relax the face and in ten minutes you skin will look softer and creases will disappear.

Control your climate as much as possible. Dermatologists suggest keeping a humidifier running in your bedroom while you sleep, especially when you travel. Dehydrated skin looks older because lines and wrinkles and uneven patches become more pronounced.

Don’t neglect your lips. You may not think you notice how your lips look, but they’re like eyebrows, when they look great your whole face looks better. Start your skincare routine with a gentle exfoliant designed for lips. Rub off the granules with a washcloth with baby oil on it. This softens and smoothes your lips and creates a lasting base for lip color.

When you’re really tired and your face shows it, soak a washcloth in ice water, wring it out and lay it across your face for several minutes. Repeat the process a few times and get ready to be amazed. This instantly reduces puffiness and restores your skin’s natural coloring.

Don’t overdo the cover up. The last thing you want to do to tired skin is cake on concealer or powder. Young, fresh skin looks bright and has a pleasant sheen. Too much powder makes your face look older. Instead load up on a moisturizing primer or face lotion. This will help fill in those lines and lock in what moisture you have left.

If you need to cover a pimple, try first applying a balm to the tip of the blemish. Dab concealer over the balm to keep it from looking caked on and heavy.

A much-used trick of the trade is to line the rim of the lower lashes with white eyeliner to help brighten the whites of the model’s eyes. Also, eye drops. You’ll be hard pressed to find a photo shoot without them.

After reading all these handy trade secrets, you might be feeling like you’ll lose even more sleep if you have to get up early enough to give yourself a 10 minute facial massage, soak an icy washcloth and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. But if you’ve already lost the sleep, this will make you look like you got your 8 hours plus. Most models you admire in skincare ads didn’t look that good before the pros worked their magic on them.
