The Latest in Beauty & Hair for 2008

The Latest in Beauty & Hair for 2008When it comes to beauty and hair trends, most of us almost always turn to our favorite celebrities to see what trends and looks they love and which ones they hate. If this sounds like the way you determine what to try and what to avoid for beauty and hair trends, then you’ll love this list of the best trends for the year of 2008, as reported by your favorite starlets.

False eyelashes have been around for some time but this beauty item has made huge waves this year. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Lauren Conrad, and just about every female walking the red carpet has a couple pairs of false lashes. In the past fake eyelashes were mostly used for glamorous events and nights out on the town but this year even going to the store could be the right excuse to slap on a pair of flirty and long lashes. Everyday women and teens have made it a point to seek out their favorite styles to sport to school, the office or on a dinner date.

Bronze has always been a shade reserved for summertime bodies in the form of fake bake tans, but 2008 brought out the best in this color, makeup wise. Adding a touch of bronze and copper color to black lined eyes makes for both a dramatic and sexy look. Paired with nude, glossy lips, celebrities like Charlize Theron and Scarlett Johansson have walked the red carpet looking like real life goddesses. Just about anyone can pull off the copper and bronze look so regardless of your complexion and skin tone, break out the bronze and add some glamour to your makeup palette this season. While on the topic of makeup, lips have also made a statement, namely the matte look. Gloss and shiny lips have always taken the spotlight but it’s the matte factor that is making its way onto the lips of Hollywood’s favorite women, including Angelina Jolie, Jessica Biel, and Natalie Portman.

One of the greatest trends for 2008 has been the all natural look. In a society obsessed with physical beauty, showcasing toned down complexions and neutral makeup colors has been instrumental in influencing the younger generation to embrace their natural beauty and enhance what they already have.

Just about all your Hollywood favorites have led busy schedules since 2008 started, leaving little time for primping and preening in front of a mirror. This has made quick and messy updos super popular. One of the most commonly sported hairstyles consisted of a messy bun secured with hairpins or a butterfly clip. Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson are two starlets that have made messy look good when it comes to looking great while on the go.
