Top Designers Share Their Beauty Favs

Top Designers Share Their Beauty FavsWhen we see models or celebrities out and about in their choice of makeup colors and donning their personal look, we take notice. But underneath it all we know that someone else likely put that lipstick on them, or chose to do pale eye shadow with thick cat-eye liner – how else can you explain nearly every female magically showing up on Rodeo with the same pale pink gloss? But when the designers who dress the models and celebs show up with a new signature look it’s worth taking notes. Some of the best in the biz dished about their winter beauty favs. Here’s what to look for this season.

Iman, CEO of Iman Cosmetics, and accessories designer for Iman Global Chic says she is “going for a sophisticated look” with her makeup this season: luminous skin, a darker eye and matte lipstick in Black Brandy. Expect to see this trend continue through the New Year’s festivities as holiday dazzle lights up the night at parties and family gatherings.

Designer Jade Jagger says that no matter what you put on to dress up your hair, you’ve got to start with a great conditioner. Her seasonal beauty fav is a sandalwood conditioner that really battles the drying effects of winter chill and the incessant dry air blown about by indoor heating. Maybe that’s why she loves tropical destinations – no in door heat required.

Designer Alice Temperley, Temperley London agrees with Jagger – to look really good you’ve got to take care of your hair. Her pick is a crème de coco hair masque that repairs the sun damage of the summer and preps hair beautifully for the rich tones of fall and winter. Along with this, she has fallen in love with shampoo designed specifically for a mom-to-be. Its gentle formula protects her body and the babies with its choice ingredients and it keeps her color amazingly bright.

Designer Devi Kroell’s favorite beauty splurge is an energizing cream for her face. “I switch to heavier creams in cold weather [to keep] my face feeling silky, combat dryness and hopefully prevent a few wrinkles.” She also shares an eye shadow favorite in a smoky, dark brown that resembles the changing leaves. “I love deep red and dark nude lip colors…and this eye shadow…”

Designer Jane Mayle also goes for a new quad of eye colors in smoky grays. These are grown up colors that add a bit of subtle sparkle and really polish your complete look. The quad includes an eggshell white with a gray base, a light pink-gray, a purplish gray and a deep smoked gray. The set is a complete look that serves as highlighter, crease and lid color and liner.
