To wear winters’ shades of white on your eyes, you want to remain soft and subtle yet not allow yourself to become washed out. Unless of course you’re going for the glam looks of the ‘80s where everything was thick and frosted and outrageous! To keep it modern, smudge winter white with a hint of shimmer along lids, up to the brows and out to the cheekbones. Be sure to blend any color that extends out from the corners of your eyes so all that’s left is a hint and not a streak of color. White shadows can pull all the color from your skin, so add a light, thin line of kohl or dark gray liner to tops and bottoms of your lids and finish with glossy mascara.
Nude lips look mysterious when paired with winter white eyes. To really make them work for you, rub the tip of your ring finger in the white eye shadow and smudge it across your bottom lip stopping just before the curve of your lip starts to turn up and along the fullest part of your top lip just under the rim. Add a clear lip balm to keep the shadow from drying out your lips.
Body dust in shades of winter white can be applied to the very top of your neck just under your chin and to the collar bones to add light to your face much the way a photographers lamp would. A very thin dusting over your forehead and along your cheekbones can accomplish the same effect. Be sure to use a peachy blush and lipstick if you choose to wear winter white body dust on your face.
Fingernails and toenails will shine with winter white polish. It looks as great on short nails as it does as part of a french manicure. Wear it as a top coat to add sparkle, wear a thin layer for mystery or add a few more coats for a statement about how much you love winter. Winter white polish with a high shine or loads of simmer looks great on toenails. It’s flirty and transitions from ski resort to evenings out.
Winter white can do what precious few shades can – it can be worn head to toe without looking like a billboard add for the color. It’s blendable and versatile and helps you play up your favorite features from head to toe. It’s a soft color that compliments your natural skin tones and helps hide imperfections by casting light in all the right places.
