How to Cover Spider Veins

How to Cover Spider VeinsSpider Veins can be an ugly problem with summer just around the corner and for most of us having them surgically removed is simply not an option. So what can we do? Do what the supermodels do. Cover them up. With a few simple tips and tricks, you can be well on your way to perfect looking legs in just minutes.

Defined

So, what exactly are spider veins? Spider veins are blood vessels that can appear just about anywhere on the body, but are most often found on the legs. They can be genetic, but can also be found after a hormonal change such as pregnancy or puberty. Spider veins can also be caused by a simple injury like bumping into the corner of a table.

Covered

There are actually a few concealers and foundations on the market that are specifically made to cover imperfections such as spider veins. The both are much heavier than normal makeup and can cost more as well. Generally you can find this type of concealer at a beauty store or major department store. Look for a greenish tint concealer or foundation to cover the purplish spider veins since it will actually help create an illusion of a flesh tone color. If you’re unsure what to look for, consult in a beauty counter salesperson. She can help guide you in the right direction.

To Use both the concealer and foundation:

Using a concealer brush, apply the concealer over the areas where the spider veins appear and blend the edges, using your fingertips.

Apply the foundation using a makeup sponge over the concealer and blend carefully.

If the spider veins concealer or foundation is out of your price range, you can opt for just one or you can try your own makeup concealer or foundation. Just remember that they may not work as well.

If you would rather not use makeup to cover your spider veins, another option is compressed stockings. Compressed stockings are meant to fit tighter than normal stockings, which will prevent spider veins from forming by making it difficult for blood to pool in the veins.

Prevention

One great way to avoid spider veins is to prevent them from forming in the first place. You can do this by, moving around a lot instead of just standing in one place for a lengthy amount of time. Standing around instead of moving is what allows venous blood to pool and promote spider veins. If you’re not able to move around, try doing a simple lung. You can do this by Sliding one-foot forward and bending your other leg at an angle at the knee. Hold for a second and then repeat with the opposite leg.

No matter what, always remember that true beauty comes from within. Smile, you were always beautiful!
