Overnight Body and Skin Treatments

Overnight Body and Skin TreatmentsEveryone has a busy schedule at one time or another. Throw in a daily skincare routine to work, school, family, kids and a commute and you’ve hardly got time to breathe. But whoever said all your beauty treatments needed to be taken care of during the day? One of the best ways to secure a good beauty regimen is by using nighttime body and skin treatments that will take care of the dirty work while you rest.

Doesn’t it make sense to take care of your skin while you sleep? No hassle, no hurry and no worrying about neglecting your skincare routine for the sake of keeping up with everything else in your life. Nighttime treatments are wonderful because the skin often takes to products better when the body is at rest and not exposed to the elements, such as environmental pollutants.

Because our hands and feet see a lot of wear and tear throughout the day, pampering them while you catch some shuteye allows for long-lasting results and preps them for another day. The simplest way to nourish hands and feet is to apply a lot of moisturizer. There are many moisturizers formulated for nighttime use that can be found at your local drugstore that are affordable. The same goes with moisturizing the feet. It’s best to choose a product that is specifically designed for the hands and feet as opposed to regular body lotion. If you’re prone to calluses or dry and cracked skin on your hands, look into purchasing a hand or foot salve and using overnight gloves or socks on top of the salve. These items can be found in any drugstore or beauty supply store. By placing the gloves or socks over your hands and feet, combined with the salve, your skin will get a powerful moisturizing treatment. When you wake up in the morning, your hands and feet will be soft, smooth and supple. Gently rinse or wipe off any excess moisturizer and go about your day.

If you’re overwhelmed during the day, try switching up your beauty products for nighttime use. Nowadays you can find everything from overnight eye creams and serums to nighttime facial masks and moisturizers. When you don’t have the time for beauty and skincare in the mornings, these nighttime formulas tackle your skin issues without having to lift a finger. To target problem areas, such as dark circles or bags, look for products with formulas designed to work overnight so each time your head hits the pillow, your skin is renewed and rejuvenated.

When all else fails, take a good ole bath. Create a spa experience in the comfort of your own home by adding botanical extracts to soothe tense muscle and relieve aching joints. Chamomile is perfect for relieving tension and restoring the skin after a long day. Smoothing a good body scrub all over while you soak will also get rid of layers of dead skin, allowing you to step out of the tub with fresh, vibrant and glowing skin from head to toe. After your bath, use a good quality body lotion or skin firming lotion and vigorously massage your skin. This stimulates circulation and also helps you sleep better.
