Products to Bring the Spa Home

Products to Bring the Spa HomeWho doesn’t like to spend a day at the spa? Who has the money to indulge in this luxury on a regular basis? For those of us who can’t afford to hit the spa treatments as often as we would like, there is a solution. With a few key products in stock, your own bathroom can evolve into the spa experience that you love. Because spa treatments have become so popular in recent years, retailers have jumped on the bandwagon to provide a plethora of spa products that you can use at home. The great advantage to a home spa experience, besides the cost reduction, is that you can indulge in a bit of self-pampering whenever and however you please.

A Touch of Luxury

Ambience is a great component of any positive spa experience, so begin your home spa with an evaluation of your surroundings. Is your bathroom conducive to the luxurious pampering that a spa will offer? Perhaps an addition or two will bring in the elements that you desire. For example, you can purchase a towel warmer that will keep that post-bath experience nice and toasty. Bigger budgets can indulge in a floor warmer that is installed under your flooring to keep your tiles at a comfortable temperature for bare feet. Purchase the fluffiest towels that you can afford, along with some thick bath rugs that will feel wonderful when you step out of the tub. Look for colors in the neutral palette to enhance the air of relaxation and serenity that you are seeking.

The perfect spa experience is all about the right lighting and aromas as well, so fill your bathroom with plenty of scented candles that will offer the just right light and aromatherapy while you soak. Music is another great relaxation technique, so find a way to bring some tunes into your home spa – even if it is merely a boom box perched on your bathroom counter. Load it up with the perfect blend of your favorite melodies, whether your preference is classical, jazz or new age. Upon entering your home spa that is illuminated by candlelight with notes softly floating in the air from the CD’s of your choice, the relaxation may already be nearly instant. However, we are just getting started on this home spa experience.

Self Indulgence to the Max

Store shelves sport an abundance of spa products today, so you can have your pick of bath salts, gels and lotions. For the ultimate in skin treatment and healing therapy, try a product that contains Dead Sea salts. Another ingredient to look for in your spa products is essential oils that can come in the scent of your choice. If relaxation is your goal, look for essential oils like chamomile, lavender and sandalwood. You can also add your own essential oils to your bath products, but make sure that you use them sparingly, since too much of a good thing can burn your skin. Body scrubs and moisturizers are a great way to exfoliate the skin and leave it soft to the touch.

Who said you had to leave home to enjoy a complete spa experience? With a few key ingredients, your bathroom can turn into a utopia that will offer relaxation and pampering to your heart’s content.
