Medi-spas combine the rejuvenating treatments found in day spas with medical-grade products and procedures. They are also required to have a board-certified physician and registered nurse on staff. If you want quick, treatments like the photo facial or chemical peels are extremely effective for a variety of skin conditions.
Rejuvenate with the IPL Photo Facial
The Photo Facial uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to repair sun-damaged skin, diminish sunspots and freckles, minimize large pores and treat rosacea and broken capillaries. IPL works by stimulating collagen synthesis, resulting in smoother, even-toned skin with no downtime.
The IPL photo facial can used to treat the face, neck, chest, hands, arms and legs. For best results, try a series of five treatments spaced three to four weeks apart.
Reveal Beautiful Skin with a Chemical Peel
The most common types of chemical peels are Beta, Glycolic and TCA. Peels come in a variety of strengths and PH levels. Your doctor, nurse or esthetician will recommend the most appropriate course of treatment for you. Since all peels exfoliate the top layer of your skin, you must apply a quality sunscreen to all exposed treated skin to avoid sun damage and photosensitivity.
Beta Peel:
This clarifying peel is ideal for acne-prone skin types. It uses salicylic acid to shed dead cells while stimulating the skin’s natural exfoliation process. Beta peels help reduce breakouts and the appearance of large pores, balances skin tone and softens fine lines and acne scars. Because salicylic acid has anti-inflammatory properties, Beta peel is suitable for sensitive and reactive skin types.
Glycolic Peel:
This refreshing and hydrating peel uses alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to speed-up skin cell turnover. It also stimulates collagen production, helps refine large pores and improves fine lines, tone and texture. Glycolic peels are best for sun-damaged and dryer skin types.
TCA Peel:
Chemical peels often involve the use of non-buffered trichloracetic acid (TCA). This type of peel is best for removing hyperpigmentation and age spots. It also targets fine lines and wrinkles and softens rough skin.
