Planning a Romantic Spa Getaway

Planning a Romantic Spa GetawayAs the popularity of spas has increased and more and more men are getting in on the pampering action, a romantic spa getaway is becoming a more common package. Just imagine relaxing together during a couple`s massage, or enjoying a facial for two. Destination spas are the perfect choice for the romantic spa getaway, since these spas offer couples the chance to unwind and pamper themselves over a few days. However, some couples find that once they check in for their romantic getaway, their paths will not cross until they meet to pay the final bill. To avoid this possibility, it is a good idea to do your homework and ask the right questions to ensure that the spa you choose really will inspire the romance that you are hoping for.

Couple`s Treatments

There is nothing more romantic than a relaxing massage for two, unless it`s a massage for two in your own private resort room. The first question you should ask a spa before booking a romantic getaway is whether treatments for two are available. Some resorts will have private rooms that are large enough to bring in two massage tables for the most private experience, but a cozy treatment room can provide a similar experience. The key is that you and your mate want to enjoy your massages in close proximity to one another. A Swedish massage is probably the best type of massage for the brand new spa visitor, but there are many other types of massage available as well. Talk to your spa technician about the right type of massage for you.

Special Amenities

There are other extras that a spa can offer to add to your romantic getaway. Some spas will offer couple`s suites that allow you to get your treatments together and then relax for a while afterward. At some spas, these suites will be packed to the brim with romance, including a fireplace, steam shower and an outdoor area. In smaller spas, it may just be a large treatment room, but it is still a place where you can hang out together during and after your treatment sessions.

Waiting areas are another consideration in planning a romantic spa getaway. If the spa that you choose keeps the genders separate during the treatment part of the day, you may not see each other at all for many hours. It`s rather challenging to feel romantic with an absentee spouse, and men who are new to the spa experience may feel more than a little apprehensive about going it alone. Ask the spa about co-ed waiting areas before you book your getaway. Even better – co-ed waiting that includes a fireplace or Jacuzzi for the ultimate romantic experience.

Spa trips for two can be a wonderful way to break away from the fast pace of life to relax and unwind. Experiencing this trip as a couple may be the perfect chance to rekindle the relationship with a complete pampering of mind, body and spirit. Romantic spa getaways – the stuff that great Valentine`s Days are made of!
