What is VelaShape?

What is VelaShape?VelaShape is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for cellulite that uses a technology called elos, a no-risk, light energy treatment that treats skin at a safe level and is suitable for all skin types. Elos is a combination of Bi-polar radiofrequency (RF), Infrared Light Energy and Vacuum Mechanical Massage that aims heat at specific locations of adipose tissue on the skin. This combination of energy helps to increase the metabolism of stored energy, increase lymphatic drainage and decrease the size of fat cells and fat chambers. The result is smoother, firmer skin, both in appearance and texture, and areas of treatment are the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, waist, upper arms and neck. For areas of treatment, there are two shapes of applicators: VSmooth and VContour. VelaShape requires approximately 4-6 once a week treatments, and each appointment can last 30-45 minutes. A gradual result can be seen after the first appointment, with full noticeable results approximately 6-8 weeks after the final treatment. Final results include a decrease of circumference in the thighs of approximately 1 centimeter (approximately ½ inch), with some results measuring up to 7.2 cm (approximately 2.8 in). According to the FDA, 100% of patients in FDA studies showed an improvement in cellulite appearance and circumference reduction and the average improvement for all patients on the appearance of cellulite was 65%.

What is the advantage of VelaShape over traditional liposuction and other cellulite machines? VelaShape is entirely non-surgical; therefore, there is no downtime and patients can return to regular activities following treatment. VelaShape causes little to no discomfort and is ideal for all skin types, heights, weights and skintones and is the only non-surgical procedure that has been cleared by the FDA for its effectiveness in circumference reduction. Compared with other cellulite machines, which would only massage and suction, VelaShape heats up and breaks down fat cells with the infrared light and radio frequency, creating a more effective, longer lasting effect. The procedure can be performed by a licensed aesthetician and patients have compared treatments to a warm deep tissue massage. After treatment, some patients may experience a warm sensation for up to a few hours, mild bruising or redness, and each session is adjusted to individual tolerance and sensitivity. Maintenance includes future periodic treatments and maintaining a balanced diet and exercise helps out results.
