Bridal Hair Tips

Bridal Hair TipsWith the proper attitude, preparation and care any bride can have beautiful hair for her big day. Keep some of these suggestions in mind so that you and your hair can begin your new life together as the perfect partnership.

Condition your Hair a Week Before the Wedding

Newly conditioned hair can be hard to manage due to its new-found bounce. Don’t do any guesswork about how your hair is going to feel and look the day of the wedding with treatments that are going to change the texture of your hair the day before. Conditioning a week prior to the wedding will make sure your locks are loaded with moisture and they have had a chance to settle in before the big day.

Choose a Simple and Classic Look

Your wedding is the prefect time to put all of your natural beauty on display and let the world know why your guy chose you! Choose a simple and classic look to understate the elegance of the occasion. Don’t worry about dramatic cut and color changes for your big day. Choose a style that reflects you, not the taste of the expensive hairdresser someone recommended. Make sure to wear a hairstyle that is easy, and does not require maintenance throughout the day, because you want to your hair to look effortless in your pictures.

Cut and Color Ahead of Time

Cut and color your hair about two weeks before your wedding. If you are not satisfied with the way a cut looks, it will have grown a bit by the time the ceremony comes around and can perhaps be fixed. If color comes out a bit bright, it has time to set in.

Remember, you don’t Have to Wear a Veil

There are many options for the bride who has too much hair for a veil to fit on over, or who has a hairstyle that does not suit a veil or a bride who simply does not like them. Adorn your hair instead with fresh or silk flowers. Wear a hat or barrettes to match your dress. Do what you want to your hair on your big day.

Consider a Convertible Style

Crafty hairstylists can design a hairstyle that can be easily changed with the removal of a few pins or ties. This option can be liberating, and promises for more dynamic pictures at the reception after the bride has taken all of her traditional pictures. Think about wearing your hair down for the wedding and sweeping it up for the reception. Either way, a convertible style will ensure that the focus is on your and your beautiful hair the entire event.

Pack a Hair Bag

You will be glad you did. Pack a bag that is exclusively for your hair, so if there is an emergency you know exactly where to locate what you will need. Include bobby pins, hairspray, gel or mousse, a brush and comb, a curling iron if needed, and a few towels. Pack a hair tie or some ribbon in case all else fails, and remember after the ceremony you can always let your hair down and just relax.
