When you start this process, the darker it is, the more times you may have to do it.

Using a Professional

The best way to go blond is to go to a professional. Unless you are bleaching your hair there will be a different product that professionals use. They also have the know how on what to do and how to make it look good for you. They can also give hints and tips in how it will look on you before they even start. Many people do not look good with lighter hair for various reasons such as skin tone and eye color. By using a professional, you can make sure the job is done right and the way you want it.

Going Blond Yourself

There are many different hair products on the market that allow you to go blond at home. From bleaching products to hair color kits you can get any shade you want and for less expensive than going to a professional. If you plan on going blond yourself there are some things you do as to make sure it is safer and you have the desired affect. The one thing that you must do is read the directions on the hair-coloring package carefully. Make sure not to leave the hair color in too long or not enough. Also make sure all the hair that you want colored is thoroughly covered with the hair color. A common mistake when coloring hair is missing a spot, which looks bad when finished, and you have to do it again. You should also make sure to wear gloves when coloring your hair blond or any color. Generally hair-coloring kits come with a set of gloves.

Shades of Hair Color

It is also more difficult to go blond if you have dark hair or red hair. It may take a couple of times before you get the desired color. You may have to go down in shades until you get the blond look you want. You can bleach it and then go blond but that is not as healthy for the hair. Also make sure to wear a towel or clothes that you do not mind discoloring, especially if you decide to bleach your hair blond.
