Hair Care For Every Hair Type

Hair Care For Every Hair TypeWhen it comes to our hair, everyone is unique. That`s what makes choosing a hair style, a new color, or certain treatment, such an individual undertaking. Whether you`re on the straight and narrow, a natural redhead, or have battled with a lifelong tendency to look like you`ve been jolted by electricity, we have the latest hair-care tips for styling, coloring, and maintaining the look that`s just right for your hair type.

On The Straight and Narrow

Lots of women agree that this may be one of the most coveted types of hair. Asian and Native American women are commonly blessed with this beautiful and luxurious hair. What makes this type of hair especially unique is that, unlike many other hair types, it can`t be emulated in a salon. If you are naturally blessed with this type of hair, there`s not much you can do, no matter how much money you pay, to look like you have it.

If you have this type of hair, it`s always a classic, clean, and easy choice to go with braiding. If you don`t have much experience with braids, look around online to find instructional sites or links to books you can order. Although this type of hair looks great just brushed and left, the downside may be that curls may not take as well as other hair types. This type of hair usually takes frequent perming and lots of styling products to hold a curl so visit your salon for recommendations.

Keeping It Under Control

At the other end of the spectrum there is those of us with curly hair. From a relaxed wave to kinky spirals, women pay lots of money to emulate this look. The only time it isn`t desired, of course, is when your blessed with it naturally. Nowadays, there all sorts of products on the market to tame curls, reduce frizz, and maintain control. Certain styles are better than others depending on the amount of curl you have and the shape of your face. Do some research to determine not only what styles are a match with your facial composition, but take into consideration how much time you want to spend styling your hair each day, and how much curl you want to maintain. Talk to a reputable and qualified hairstylist for ideas. Also, this hair greatly benefits from deep treatments since they can help to tame the hair shaft.

Thin: Great For the Body But Not For the Hair

Thin hair is the most difficult to deal with as far as styling goes because it lacks sufficient lift to hold any style. Although there are several products on the market for boosting volume, adding thickness, and creating lift, talk with your stylist about styles that can add to the fullness, or at least give the illusion of fullness. Often, choosing styles that have lots of texture to them, such as choppy layers, can add lift and help hair appear thicker. Work with a stylist to pick out styles you like that have shape and compliment your face.
