Hairstyle Trends in 2008

Hairstyle Trends in 2008Who doesn’t want to know what trends will be popular each year? If you’ve been wondering what hairstyles will become legend and which celebrities are sporting what styles this year, you’ll want to keep reading. With this knowledge, you’ll be able to find your own special hairdo and make your own hair statement. 2008 is going to see some changes in hair and it’s all for the best!

One of the biggest hair trends this year was started off by Victoria Beckham. Her “Pob” (a combination of her Spice Girl name “Posh” and the “Bob” hairstyle) has been in demand ever since and women everywhere who can pull it off are turning to a bob hairstyle. Other celebrities are also opting for shorter and sexier hair. In 2007 the hair trend was all about being carefree with curls and wild tresses but 2008 is introducing a throwback to glamour. Another starlet who is currently rocking a shorter style includes R&B singing sensation Rihanna. Since letting go of her long tresses, Rihanna has become synonymous with style ever since!

The latest styles include those that showcase sleek, controlled tresses. Volume is also a popular aspect of hairstyles in 2008. To achieve this kind of hairstyle, you’ll need the aid of retexturing gel, thickening gel, and holding spray. Sarah Jessica Parker, Hayden Panettiere, Carrie Underwood, and Angelina Jolie are celebrities who continue to make an impact on the red carpet due to their sleek and sophisticated locks.

Celebrities have made 2008 the year of the hair extensions - and not the tacky kind, either. Of course many keep it simple by using high quality clip-on hair extensions instead of exposing their locks to more traditional methods, which can cause damage if done incorrectly. It isn’t uncommon to see your favorite female celebrity sporting a short style one day and a handful of luxurious locks the next day. Some notable ladies who make clip-on extensions part of their daily routine include Eva Longoria-Parker, Paris Hilton, and Jessica Simpson.

Sticking with the sleek and sophisticated hairdo, many hairstylists are debuting nifty pinned and tousled hairstyles. The use of jeweled clips and barrettes are ideal for making even the most basic ‘do look glamorous. Try putting your hair up in a sexy messy bun or a regular ponytail and add a fun headband or clips to keep strands in place. To go the extra mile for glamour, you can opt for a French twist. Hair of all lengths will benefit from sporting a tightly pinned bun this year. The leading ladies turning heads with their chic updos include Christina Applegate, Rebecca Romijn, and Teri Hatcher. Curly hair and tight ringlets are also in season for 2008. If you don’t want to deal with a perm, you can opt for a curling iron or simply braid your hair and let it loose the next day for a head full of curls and waves.
