The Partially Up Ponytail
·
Begin by separating hair into an upper and lower section.
·
Secure the upper section using a ponytail holder.
·
Tease hair slightly at the crown of the head using a rattail comb.
·
Wrap a headband around the hair and secure with bobby pins.
The Elegant Wrapped Ponytail
·
For this style, start by gathering hair into a low ponytail and secure using a ponytail holder.
·
Remove a small section of hair from the back of the ponytail and wrap that section around the ponytail holder a few times.
·
Slide your finger through one look of the ponytail holder at the bottom in the back and tuck the ends of the hair through it to secure.
The Knotted Ponytail
·
Start by gathering hair into a low ponytail and secure with a ponytail holder.
·
Next, separate the ponytail into two tails and begin twisting the tails into knots.
·
Secure each of the knots using bobby pins.
·
Pull a few strands here and there from the knots and allow them to fall into place.
The Twisted Ponytail
·
Begin by adding a small amount of styling gel through hair from roots to tips.
·
Taking small sections of hair, roll each section between the palms of your hands.
·
Continue to roll each section until you have done the entire head in this manner.
·
Gather the twisted sections carefully, into a low ponytail and secure with a wrap or ribbon to finish this style.
The Spiked Ponytail
·
If your hair is slightly shorter than medium length, you can create this unique and funky hairstyle.
·
Begin by pulling several random sections into ponytails and secure using ponytail holders.
·
Using a small amount of spiking glue or wax, rub it into each of the ponytails to create stiff spikes that stand on end.
The Covered Ponytail
·
Start by pulling hair back into a low ponytail and secure with a ponytail holder.
·
Using your choice of material, grasp the ponytail and begin wrapping the entire ponytail from root to end using the material.
·
Secure by tying the material at the ends or secure using a ponytail holder.
The Genie Ponytail
·
Gather upper section of hair into a ponytail at top of the grown and secure using a ponytail holder.
·
Spritz hair with a hairspray if needed, to keep any loose ends into place.
·
Wrap the ponytail holder with a piece of cloth and secure by tucking the ends into the ponytail holder.
The Colored Ponytail
·
Pull hair into a medium ponytail and secure using a ponytail holder.
·
Apply a bright colored temporary dye to the tip of your ponytail and let dry.
·
For a more dramatic style, apply the temporary dye to the entire ponytail.
Note: Be sure that the dye washes out after one shampoo or you may end up having to cut your hair!
