Need some scary, hairy warts for a witch costume? Then you’ll want to check out this easy recipe for instant warts, hair and all! Ingredients you’ll need:
·
Bristles from a paintbrush or use your own hair bristles from your hairbrush
·
Non-toxic watercolors
·
Eyelash glue or corn syrup
·
White or black, whole peppercorns
Use your glue or corn syrup to adhere the peppercorns to your face or other area where you want your warts to be. To make sure they stay in place, hold the peppercorns against the glue for a few seconds until dry. Next, take your bristles or hair and dip them into the glue or corn syrup and then affix it to the peppercorn and wait until it is dry. That will create your hairy wart. Use the non-toxic watercolors to add the final touch of color.
In need of some blood? With this recipe, you can make your own! Gather together the following ingredients:
·
5 ½ tablespoons of white corn syrup
·
10-15 drops of yellow food coloring
·
2-3 drops of blue food coloring
·
60-70 drops of red food coloring
·
2 ½ tablespoons of water
·
Bowl for mixing
·
Measuring spoons
Combine all of the food coloring drops and water together into your bowl. Next, add your white corn syrup slowly and stir until the mixture becomes thick but still liquid (like real blood). When you’ve got the right consistency, it’ll be ready to use to your heart’s content! However, this DIY Halloween blood will stain all clothing so be careful of what you wear and where you put it.
For the do-it-yourself types that love natural products, have no fear! There are also Halloween makeup products that are perfectly safe for use on your child’s skin. This ghoulish holiday, skip out on the masks for your child, which can cause skin rashes due to sweat or difficulty breathing, and opt for makeup instead. There are some brands that specialize in Halloween makeup that only contains safe, natural ingredients. These items prevent breakouts, blemishes and allergic reactions, which make it ideal for sensitive skin types.
Be on the lookout for the following natural and child-friendly ingredients in your Halloween makeup products: Mica (transparent and causes makeup to go on smoothly), Kaolin Clay (natural clay that is safe for all skin types, absorbs fats, soothes inflamed skin, and refines pores), Titanium Dioxide (contains SPF and waterproof properties, creates a matte look, reduces redness and skin irritation), Zinc Oxide (heals problematic skin conditions, contains UV protection, and has staying power even after sweating), Iron Oxides (a natural mineral used for color), and Ultramarine Blue (used for colors and is safe on the skin).
