Fall 2008 Makeup Trends

Fall 2008 Makeup TrendsJust as you should adjust your wardrobe and your skincare as the seasons change, the same goes for your beauty and makeup. Throw the latest trends into the mix and you’ve got a great way to stay in with the times and what’s popular right now. If you need a little hint as to what you should start doing differently in your beauty and makeup routine, don’t worry, you’ll find all your answers right here.

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, thin, barely there eyebrows are so out of style! Gone are the days when shaving or plucking the brows and redrawing them were seen as stylish. There is nothing cool about having a constant fixed expression on your face. So thankfully, common sense has started to kick in the fashion world and now dark and thick eyebrows are being embraced by all. Of course that doesn’t mean that unibrows and bushy eyebrows are something to imitate. The key to pulling off this latest makeup trend is to have your brows properly groomed and shaped. You’ll want to keep your brows’ natural shape or maybe add a little more arch, but that’s it. Clean up the strays and don’t be afraid to sport more natural-looking brows. To achieve this look, you can use the aid of brow powder to get just the right look.

For those of you that love eye shadow, you’ll love the latest variety of trends when it comes to eye makeup. First on the list is the growing trend of shimmering, bronze eye shadow. Metallic effects in makeup are appearing on all the latest models and other celebrities. When attempting to wear such shades, be sure to blend the darker colors or gold highlights with the shimmering bronze. Because of the effect, you’ll want to keep your lips simple. Nude lip colors go best for this look. It seems that the smoky eye look can never be out of style. This wonderful makeup look continues to go strong. Of course, this look is best for evening hours so be sure to choose your dark and smoky eye makeup look wisely when it comes to the time of day and/or the event you plan on attending. With this look, it’s all about the eyes so you’ll want to balance the overall effect by sporting nude or pink shades of lip color. If you want to make an impact, however, with both your eyes and lips, then choose a great red lip color to complement your smoky eyes. Just when you thought you had to be afraid of blue eye shadow, the fashion world now gives the green light for this retro look. Not only is blue eye shadow becoming a must have eye makeup color, it’s the bright blue shades that are drawing attention. So don’t be afraid to wear a touch of this color on your eyes this year…just make sure to go for simpler colors on your cheeks and lips to avoid looking like a bad version of Raggedy Anne.

Just as with eye makeup, lip color trends for this year are also varied. You can choose from nude and pale pinks to fire engine reds and berry shades. Feel free to indulge in the brightest lipstick shades, and the colors on the opposite end: burgundy, blues, blacks, browns, and berry shades. Because eye shadow trends tend to be more dramatic, this calls for the complementary colors of nude, pale and bold pinks. Learn to love these shades, as they will draw just the right amount of attention to your face.
