How to Get Younger Looking Eyes

How to Get Younger Looking EyesWant younger looking eyes? If you’re like most of us, you’re probably nodding your head yes right now. The eyes are one of the first things we notice on someone and one of the easiest that can make us actually look older than we really are if we don’t pay attention to them. With the right beauty regimen and a few simple makeup tricks, you can be well on your way to younger looking eyes in minutes.

The Beauty Regimen

If you want younger looking eyes, a great beauty routine is an absolute must for anyone.

Use an eye cream at night before bedtime and in the morning to help reduce under eye puffiness. If you’d like chill the eye cream, to give it a little extra oomph in reducing puffiness. You can also place a couple of chilled cucumber slices over your eyes in the morning and relax until the cucumbers are warm. If you don’t have a cucumber, a couple of chilled spoons will work just as well.

To eliminate under eye puffiness in the first place, avoid sleeping on a flat pillow. Instead, purchase a couple of fluffy pillows to keep your head elevated and reduce water retention, a cause of under eye baggage. You should also avoid salty foods and alcohol since they can lead to puffiness as well. And get enough sleep!

The Makeup

After reducing the puffiness, your next step is to apply a creamy concealer under the eyes. Look for one that matches your skin tone and avoid anything that is lighter unless you want to you look older. Also make sure it has a peach or yellow undertone to cancel out the bluish shade under your eyes.

Go for a lighter shade of eye shadow to give your eyes a lift. Look for one that is sheer with a tiny bit of shimmer. Stay away from frosts.

Keep things soft by going for a soft brown eyeliner. Black can be way too harsh. If brown isn’t your color, try a light blue eyeliner to bring out the whites of your eyes for a brighter, younger you.

Use a sable shade of mascara, which is a softer version of black.

Update those brows! A great brow arch can lift your eyes instantly. For a perfect shape, try an eyebrow stencil. To use: Place the stencil over your brow and shade in the area with a brow pencil or highlighter. Next, tweeze areas where the brow hairs aren’t highlighted. Don’t forget to remove the pencil marks once you’re done tweezing. Brush brows into place and then keep with the soft look by shading in any sparse brow areas with powder instead of a pencil.

Now that you know the secret to younger looking eyes, go out and share those beautiful eyes with the world!
