Makeup Rehab 101

Makeup Rehab 101Whether you`re a seasoned vet at applying makeup, are still trying to get the hang of things or only apply makeup on occasion, there more than likely have been times when no matter what you`ve done, the end results don`t end up looking the way you want. There are many makeup mishaps that women typically experience but the good news is that there are solutions to these problems that`ll get you the look you want and banish any issues you may be experiencing.

Having too much fun in the sun often comes at a cost, namely sunburn. Getting sunburn on the complexion is one of the most painful places to have this mishap. Not only is it an uncomfortable area to have pain in, it also makes applying makeup tricky. The first step that should be taken to remedy this skincare issue is to lather a moisturizer or face oil that is made to treat sunburn. The ingredients in these types of products soothe upset skin but also prevent unsightly peeling. Because the complexion will still be sensitive, it is ideal to only use a mineral powder instead of your traditional foundation. If you’re dealing with redness, dusting bronzing powder in the right places will create a more uniform skin tone and minimize the redness caused by the sunburn.

Can`t quite apply eyeliner without looking like a Goth? This is perhaps one of the biggest makeup mishaps women deal with, even those that have been applying makeup for years. Although the first thing most women want to do is reach for a pencil or gel eyeliner, these two products are the easiest ones to make mistakes with. Learn how to become familiar with using eye shadow instead of traditional pencil or gel eyeliner because it creates a softer look that isn’t too harsh. Another tip when it comes to applying eyeliner is to stick to dark brown shades instead of black. To use eye shadow as liner, take your small eyeliner brush and dip it into water so that it’s damp. Then load it with some of the eye shadow color and place it along your lash line like you normally would with regular liner. With time and practice you’ll see how much better this application method looks afterwards. Additionally, the eye shadow color is easier to control as well as fix in case you mess up.

Learning to use concealer is a great way to hide any skincare woes, such as dark under eye circles. But sometimes even adding concealer can pose its own set of problems, such as enhancing fine lines and wrinkles in the eye area. If this is a makeup mishap you keep dealing with, you`ll have to change the way you apply this product. Make sure to use quality eye cream before putting on your concealer. This will create a barrier that will prevent the concealer from seeping through and settling into your fine lines. Next, opt for a concealer that is cream-based and two shades lighter than the shade of your foundation. Use a small brush made for applying this makeup product and be sure to cover the area close to your lash line as well as the inner corners. After blending the color with your fingertips, finish off the look with powder in a shade that will even out the overall look.
