Spring Trend: Multi-Color Makeup

Spring Trend: Multi-Color MakeupIf compacts make you feel like you’re seeing double… or even quadruple colors this spring, you know you’re looking at the hottest trend in makeup. From concealer to bronzers, from lids to lips multi-color is in and it’s a big hit for those who like to be notice for what you’re (supposedly) not wearing. Because while we all love to spice it up when we go out with smoky eyes and salsa red lips, the everyday girl in us wants to be noticed for how good we look without all the fuss. Multi-colored makeup helps achieve that goal.

Multi-colored concealers pack a big punch by combining the key shades that work best to conceal under-eye circles, blemishes and uneven skin tone. Most concealers are designed so you can use each individual color as needed or blend for an overall even appearance. Look for cream concealers that combine yellow, ivory or beige (depending on skin tone), pink and green. Multi-colored concealer allows you to treat multiple imperfections without caking on layers of different colors – they do the blending for you.

Bronzers become more and more important to our makeup routine as we work to protect our skin from the sun and still enjoy a healthy pre-summer glow. Bronzers that combine gold, sienna and pink offer a soft glow and shimmer that imitates a weekend at the beach.

Multi-colored blushes in soft pink shades suggest you’ve just been to the gym. Your fresh flush will stay on all day without looking made up and over done. Blushes that combine peach hues work great on most skin tones – especially when swept over bronzers on the apples of your cheeks. Shades of peach accent a sun kissed tan perfectly.

Two or three different colored eye shadows grouped in one compact are nothing new, but this season dual colors are grouped to blend. Dark and light shades of the same color, or shimmer and matte shadows are meant to be blended to achieve a deep yet subtle sweep of color. Texture and tone work together to give a Wow! look that doesn’t overpower you.

Last but not least, lip color – especially gloss – is fusing your favorite shade with gold, silver and ivory shimmer to turn up the intensity and the fun in lip wear. Cream lip color comes in a surprising combination of colors that blend for a romantic shade that is your lip color intensified.

So this spring be fearless in your color choices and don’t be alarmed by the compacts that show-off an amazing array of colors. Choose compacts designed for your skin tone and trust the combinations to compliment each other when used alone, and to add a subtle boost to your look when blended together.
