Using Green Concealer to Hide Acne Breakouts

Using Green Concealer to Hide Acne BreakoutsHaving acne can be a huge pain. Both teens and adults alike can suffer from this troublesome condition. When breakouts occur it can be uncomfortable, unsightly and embarrassing. Redness is a common symptom associated with an acne breakout and if you’re desperate for a solution to cover up your blemishes, then you’re in luck because help is only a concealer away.

While it makes sense to use concealer to hide the redness of your blemishes, you may be surprised to know that green concealer is the product that will give you the best results. Never heard of green concealer before? It does exist and has been around for quite some time. Although the color may be a shock at first, this hue is actually very effective at camouflaging the redness of blemishes, breakouts and inflamed pimples. But that doesn’t mean you should just run out, buy green concealer and start applying it to your complexion. Makeup is an art and knowing how to properly apply it will give you the best results. The good news is you don’t have to be a professional makeup artist in order to effectively cover up your acne using green concealer.

Before application it is important to prep your complexion. After cleansing apply your oil-free moisturizer and wait a few minutes for it to absorb into the skin. A well moisturized face will help makeup set better and provide a smoother surface that will help your color stay uniform. Next, take your concealer brush (synthetic, smooth concealer brushes that work with cream formulas are the best) and dab it into your green concealer. Apply the concealer directly onto your problem area and give it about 15 seconds so that it is able to set on the area. Then blend gently by fanning out the edges around the blemish so that the color goes seamlessly into your complexion. If the green concealer in the middle of the blemish appears a bit chunky you can use your brush to pat it down and smooth it out but don’t overdo it because this will defeat the purpose of hiding the problem.

After you have properly blended the edges of your green concealer into your skin, you will have to finish it off with powder. It is best to use a good quality, translucent powder. Start by brushing the powder over your blemishes that have been covered up with the green concealer and then gently blend the powder over the rest of your complexion. Check your progress in the mirror (make sure you have good light to work with) and make sure any redness is hidden.

Even though green concealer can help you with your acne issues, it is meant to be a temporary solution. You should not rely solely on makeup to help you with your acne. It is important to treat your acne using the proper skincare products so that you can clear up your skin. Once your complexion is acne free you will no longer need the green concealer.
