The natural look is one of the most popular makeup looks these days and it can also be applied perfectly to a blushing bride. If you’re not a huge fan of makeup and don’t want to appear overdone, then the natural look will suit you. Going natural doesn’t mean not wearing any makeup, however. The downside to doing this is that while you’ll be happy to not be wearing makeup, it will photograph terribly. The idea of the natural bridal makeup look is to apply the colors in a way that makes it appear as if you’re not wearing anything at all. The colors you choose should be ones that complement your skin tone and goes well with your wedding dress. Peach, corals, and pinks are common colors for pulling off this bridal look. When lining your eyes, don’t go overboard and keep the eye shadow light. Same with the lips. Opt for a softer, matte lip color. If you want a touch of shine, add a drop of clear gloss to your bottom lip for a dewy pout. Consult with a makeup artist to help you choose the right blush, lip and eye shadow color for your all natural bridal look.
If you’d rather glam it up, you’ll be happy to know that the smokey eye look has made its transition to bridal makeup. This look is perfect for brides that want all eyes on them, particularly their peepers. With the right application, the smokey eye not only looks fabulous, it photographs extremely well. Be sure to choose an eye shadow color that works well with the black liner and mascara. You’ll want your eye area to have a smoothly blended, dusty appearance. Avoid hard lines at all costs. To help keep your eye makeup from overwhelming the rest of your face, be sure to pair your smokey eye look with blush and a lip color in the earth tone family.
Brides with fair skin will fall in love with the retro makeup look, which involves sporting fire engine red lips with dramatic eyes. To successfully pull this look off, choose an eye shadow color to your liking and make sure your upper lash is boldly lined with black. Two coats of mascara will finish off the eyes. Keep your blush soft and choose a warm color. There are a variety of red lip colors to choose from so be sure to find your perfect shade and give your lips some oomph.
