If you want to know what the guys will be wearing back to class or what young executives will be dressed in at the office, you have to look no farther than the silver screen. A recent survey tells all as 18 – 20-something guys admit that they look to the stars when it comes to picking out their next outfit. This shouldn’t be surprising, Hollywood drives fashion as much as designers drive fashion. Now we have to warn you old dudes to beware of big screen fashion. It’s not for the slight of heart…or body. So what are the blockbusters bring to men’s fashion this fall?

Where else would we start but with the Dark Knight himself? Christian Bale will bring back the I-dare-you-to-ruffle-me look of the super GQ man. From sport coats to tuxedos to pull-over sweaters, his I-cannot-be-wrinkled fashion will be bolding up many men as they step out in confidence. Expect to see much more of a yacht club casual look this fall. Will the Joker affect fashion sense??

The Incredible Hulk’s, Edward Norton will make wife-beaters something men wear out of the house, groan most women. This undershirt gone pseudo T-shirt is once again presumed acceptable attire by the proud few who never stopped stocking their drawers in the hopes that they would return. Ugh!

Indiana Jones came back this summer and his tough guy casual attire is carrying into fall. You’ll see a lot of the safari-esque colors and cuts in dress shirts and khakis as they surge back to the top of campus wear and business casual wear. The famed hat has never really gone out of style, but you’ll be hard pressed to missed them in most men’s wear shops that carry or specialize in hats.

Also sticking around from Indiana Jones is the James Dean look sported by Mutt, Indian’s son. The leather jacket and white T-shirt of yesterday are making today’s college guys hotter than ever. One variation you can expect is ribbed T’s and colored T’s under leather jackets. It’s the ’08 spin on a classic look. We’ve even seen a few guys wearing cuffed jeans and black motorcycle boots. Hey, if you’re going for a look, you might as well go all the way.

On to Step Brothers. Regardless of your definition of funny, these two boys made an impact and have put old school graphic T’s back on the map. Websites and departments stores are well stocked and ready for the back to school rush on printed T-shirts.  Everything from soda logos to crazy sayings and pictures of everything and everyone under the sun are showing up on a manly chest near you. Let’s just hope that Will Farrell’s bikini swimsuit stays with last summer!
