Eating Tips for Men in Their 20s

Eating Tips for Men in Their 20sWhen men are in their 20s they feel invincible. Needless to say, many men in this age range take a lot of risks and subject their bodies to a lot of abuse because they believe that they can easily bounce back without any consequences. However, the truth is that the better you treat your body - even when you’re in your 20s - the better prepared you’ll be to tackle your 30s, 40s and beyond. Physical fitness is only one part of staying in tip top shape. Eating right is a major factor that should be taken seriously…even in your 20s.

Studies show that men in their 20s - mainly their late 20s - tend to increase their stress levels due to a busy work schedule, settling down into marriage, raising kids, etc. All of these lifestyle factors can take a toll on the body and if you are not on top of your health, you could be setting up your body for failure in the long run. The good news is that the solution is as simple as knowing what foods you should be eating. Incorporating the proper amounts of nutritious food items into your daily eating regimen can be sufficient enough to combat any stressors or negative elements that can lead to possible health complications in the coming years. If you want to make sure your 20s are the happiest and healthiest, there are some foods you’ll want to add more of into your life.

Men that find themselves with little time to cook their own meals or who often turn to fast food and junk food should remove those negative food choices from their daily eating regimen and instead opt for meals that are made up of both lean meat and vegetables. There are a ton of different frozen meals you can purchase at the grocery store and thanks to the advancements in cuisine, you can find TV dinners that are more than a frozen slab. Check out the frozen meals that use fresh veggies and carry fewer calories. This means you can eat up and satisfy your appetite without sacrificing taste.

Feeling down? Then you’re not alone. While a man in his 20s is known for “living it up,” studies have shown that men in this age range are also prone to depression. You can also turn to food to combat this condition. Pull yourself out of the blues the right way by skipping out on the caffeine and energy drinks and instead eating one tablespoon of ground flaxseed every day. Ground flaxseed contains fats that improve brain function and also does wonders for the brain’s pleasure center.

If you want to make sure you don’t become prone to cancer, you’ll want to load up on fresh fruit - berries in particular - as well as chicken liver and whole grain cereal. These food items alone will provide your body with loads of folate and antioxidants, which fight free radical damage and increase your levels of B vitamins, which are responsible for preventing irregular DNA that can result in cancer.
