One of the most widely known fashion trends men have followed for years is the fascination of wearing sneakers with all of their outfits. High school boys made this especially popular when it came to prom and it isn’t far-fetched to see men getting married in their tuxedos, equipped with matching sneakers. Some weddings even take the time to allow all of the groomsmen to wear sneakers, too! As “hip” as this may make most men feel, there is a time and a place for wearing sneakers with nice outfits but that doesn’t mean all the time. Personal style is one thing, but looking sloppy due to laziness is another. If you have a few pairs of nice sneakers that go well with most of your outfits, then so be it but give your wardrobe a boost by investing in a few pairs of regular dress shoes. It won’t hurt and chances are you’ll be more likely to impress your lucky lady by looking classy from head to toe.
While most men don’t have a need for an all-out suit, many have found the nifty trend of mixing and matching tops and bottoms to create their own suit a pretty popular way to look snazzy and comfortable at the same time. But this doesn’t work if you aren’t aware of how to properly match suit items. Don’t just match a blazer and slacks by color, also consider the material, style, cut, and shape. If you need help with this, look through male fashion magazines or check out the wardrobe online of your favorite male celebrity for inspiration. Or if all else fails, ask your significant other or a female friend you trust to take you on a shopping trip and help you build the right suits.
When it comes to buying pants, there are still many men that aren’t aware of the importance of finding the right length. Not sure what length to go for when you go shopping? Then follow these simple guidelines: dress pants/slacks should ideally reach to just the top of the heel of your shoe while jeans can go all the way to the bottom of your shoe, but make sure it isn’t so long in length that you step on them. You may need to get alterations done to make it the perfect length for you. Also keep in mind your socks when it comes to how long or short your pants are. No more than two inches of your socks should show through when you sit down and they should never be visible while walking.
