Give Your Dad the Gift of the Spa

Give Your Dad the Gift of the SpaIt’s one thing to have your Dad be pampered for Father’s Day but it’s quite another to have it done professionally at a spa. The male market for spa services has continued to skyrocket in the past few years so read on to find out what type of spa your Dad should be making his next appointment for.

When most men think about spas they envision tons of women, bonding and laughing, while wearing plush white robes and enjoying everything from massages to manicures and pedicures. Typically no place for a man to feel comfortable, most avoid spas like the plague. However, some spas saw the potential in not only encouraging male customers to partake of their services but to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and not intimidating to men. Finally, a place where a man can indulge in being pampered without sacrificing his masculinity!

Dads work pretty hard and deserve a day off. This Father’s Day makes for the perfect opportunity to introduce your Dad to the pleasures of a day spa. Luckily, you won’t have to worry about freaking him out by ushering him into a day spa filled with feminine oriented décor. There is now a growing market for male spa services and facilities that contain all the fittings any man would embrace. Men actually account for almost half of all spa customers, and these numbers continue to grow each year. Because of this growing demand for spa services, many spas now offer male-friendly services and environments. Depending on what your Dad likes, you may want to look into booking him an appointment at one of the following types of spas:

Men-Only: does your Dad not want to be bothered with the presence of chatting females? Then he’ll love a spa that caters only to men. Many of these establishments can be found in Europe but are starting to crop up everywhere. Men-only spas boast male oriented décor, colors, and music. The chance for male bonding can be accomplished without distraction from the opposite sex.

The Lounge Spa: If you can’t manage to find a men-only spa for your Dad, don’t worry, not all is lost. A good majority of spas cater to both men and women but a select few also offer a lounge atmosphere designed just for male customers who need a breather from the other areas of the spa. This separate treatment room allows the men to enjoy their own space while the women go about their typical spa pleasantries. Not only does the lounge atmosphere make men feel comfortable, many such establishments offer spa services just for men, including special massages for the physically fit and body hair removal.

Grooming Salon: does Dad enjoy the environment of a barber shop? He’ll feel right at home at a spa that also doubles up as a male version of a beauty salon. Not only can your Dad settle into the masculine surroundings and select a spa service that he wants, Dad can also get his shoes shined, his hair styled and cut, and his facial hair shaved or body hair removed. Usually filled with gleaming hardwood floors, comfy leather couches and clean designs, your Dad will enjoy every second.
