The Ultimate Guide to Cleansing Male Skin

The Ultimate Guide to Cleansing Male SkinThe concept of cleansing may appear simple but that doesn’t mean you can’t switch things up a bit and really get your complexion squeaky clean. When regular cleansing just doesn’t cut it, you may need to upgrade your cleansing routine to include a deep cleanse. The steps are simple and your manly complexion will feel like gold afterwards.

Even though deep cleansing doesn’t take a whole lot of time, it still helps to do it when you’re not in a rush or have somewhere important to be. This is a skincare treat for yourself so you should be able to enjoy it from start to finish. To start, take two clean face towels and moisten them. Then stick them in the microwave for a few seconds. However, the towels shouldn’t be scorching hot. You’ll want the towels to be warm to the touch, though. After taking them out of the microwave, set them aside for now.

Next, wet your face with warm water and then apply a drop of liquid cleanser to your palm and begin massaging it into your face - don’t forget your neck. Using your fingertips, work small circles over your skin in order to eliminate any dirt, oil and surface bacteria. Once you’ve thoroughly cleansed your face with more warm water, take a small amount of a gentle exfoliating product and apply it to your skin. If you use an exfoliating product that contains glycolic acid and salicylic acid, you’ll be able to get a really deep down cleaning that will penetrate through your skin and down to the follicles of your facial hair. While the layer of exfoliating product is still on your face, take one of your warm towels and place it over your face and sit down somewhere comfortable for about five minutes. By doing this, your pores are able to open and breathe freely, which helps the exfoliator work effectively. After your five minutes are up, remove the towel and use it to gently rub your skin for another minute or two in order to finish the exfoliation part of the process. Afterwards, rinse with warm water.

To tackle puffiness and tired eyes, use your second warm towel and place it over your eyes and leave them on for another few minutes. Once you’re satisfied, remove the second towel and move on to applying an alcohol-free toner (if you use it) or you can apply aftershave lotion onto your face and neck. Finish the deep cleansing process by using an oil-free moisturizer and massaging it into your complexion.

In those few easy steps, you’ll have a complexion that is deep down clean, fresh, radiant and feels soft to the touch. Free feel to do this treatment as needed, especially if your skin is on the outs or you need a little pick-me-up.
