Male Celeb Style – The Hair History of Colin Farrell

Male Celeb Style – The Hair History of Colin FarrellColin Farrell is the type of Hollywood actor that every woman wants and every guy wants to hang out and have a beer with. His roles have run the gamut, from Daredevil, to Miami Vice, and SWAT. While his love life and off-camera bad-boy persona stays pretty consistent, one thing hasn’t: his hair. If you’re looking for a new style maybe a flashback at some of Colin’s previous hairstyles can provide some inspiration.

When he took on the role of Officer Jim Street in the blockbuster action movie, SWAT, Colin opted for a clean-cut and very sexy medium length style with long layers on top and shorter layers on the back and sides. The great thing about this hairstyle is that you can shape and mold the longer layers however you like. To make this style work for you, get the layers cut properly by a hairstylist and simply use pomade to apply to various sections of the hair. For the longer layers, pomade is ideal for shaping the hair into chunks or you can even spike it up. Feeling a little rebellious? Then throw out hair products altogether and do the messy “bed head” style… at least the sides and back won’t be sloppy!

In the nail-biting “Phone Booth,” Colin is seen sporting a slightly longer variation of the medium length style, which is actually a messy crop. The top is much longer and cut at an angle, with full bangs. This type of style is ideal for masking face shapes that have a high forehead. The sides and back aren’t quite as long and are layered. To maintain this type of hairstyle, all you’ll need is molding cream and mousse to get your bangs and top under control. But more often than not, you can wear the style as is without too much hassle. 5-10 minutes tops is all that is needed.

Male Celeb Style – The Hair History of Colin FarrellWhen Colin’s feeling a little grungier, he has no problem showing off his locks in a long and shaggy do, wavy or straight. This particular hairstyle has followed Colin everywhere from nights out on the town to movie premieres and even red carpet events. This style involves texturing the ends all over with a uniform cut to balance out the shape of the hairstyle with Colin’s face structure. At most, moisturizer and molding cream is all that’s required. Of course if you’ll want it to look somewhat manageable, you’ll need to blow dry the strands and sculpt them as need with your molding cream or pomade.

Not so fond of long locks or the messy bed-head look? Then you’ll find inspiration in the Colin Farrell hairstyle that is very short and easy to maintain. Instead of having his sides and back layered, Colin rocked a hairstyle that involved having his sides and back cut very close to his scalp, while the top section was left long but unlike the similar SWAT hairstyle, the hair has been razor cut for a sharper and more defined appearance. As far as styling goes, you can use gel spray to spike the top, as well as pomade to shape or pinch the hair to create a more textured look.
