Let’s keep it real…the chances are slim to nil that you will look exactly like Brad Pitt. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use his exercises to get a buff body. Brad is known for bulking up and slimming down for roles but off-camera he has always kept himself in top shape over the years.
One of the first steps Brad Pitt did to get his body in shape was to stop smoking as well as drinking. He also got rid of fried foods, especially anything with potatoes, including fries and potato chips. For certain roles, his diet helped him beef up for the cameras but also ended up contributing to an overall healthier physique. Past fitness diets include four helpings of meals that were high in protein and low in carbs. Additionally, Brad added more vegetables and meat into the mix. That sounds like something you could do on your own, right? Right. See, that isn’t so hard!
Of course, there’s more to Brad Pitt’s body than what he puts in his mouth. Now comes the challenging part, which deals with exercises that specifically burn fat. However, this doesn’t have to be an impossible task. If you’re looking for exercises that burn some serious fat, you’ll want to look into circuit training. This type of workout deals with exercises that work your entire body. The fast-pace is ideal for burning loads of calories and each circuit training routine consists of multi-joint exercises, which will keep you fit from head to toe. Examples of great circuit training exercises to try out yourself include bodyweight squats, overhead dumbbell presses, pushups, and lunges. When planning on doing these types of workouts, you should aim for 10-15 reps, with 2-3 rotations and be sure to rest in between for 30-45 seconds.
To take your fitness up a notch, include interval training, which uses high and low intensities. By going from one exercise intensity to another within the same workout routine, you’ll be able to burn even more calories while speeding up your metabolism. Strength training is also crucial to Brad Pitt’s workout routine. This type of exercise burns fat, adds leaner muscle mass to your body and also speeds up your metabolism by burning a lot of calories.
While Brad Pitt always looks great when he’s not on a movie set, he definitely goes into overdrive when getting fit for his roles. In order to get the body of the mighty Achilles in the action-movie “Troy,” Brad had to undergo intense training not only for the role but in order to bulk up. He devoted an entire year to workouts in the gym for 2-3 hours everyday, including 45 minutes on the treadmill and two hours of sword work. If you think actors have a cushy job, think again! Lucky for you, there isn’t any need for this rigorous of a workout. Find what works for you and do so in moderation.
